apparently the overboost thing is available on launch and is what allows the car to drop 0-60 times... I'm not sure about anything definitive though.
I think its a clever way to not compete with higher power models of the Supra (or flash upgrades and such if available), as well as Lexus F...
you may be extrapolating far more than what I was getting at... this is more like going to a manufacturer and saying I need something that will do this, this, and this. what do you have? oh, you don't have anything currently that will do that... well, can we use these and and modify them to...
pretty much nailed it as far as demographics go, but Toyota really should update those vehicles soon (probably in the works, at least for the 4 Runner, as that thing is ancient inside).
but I'll also add that certain vehicles exist just to fill a gap in the lineup in order to pull and maintain...
this is purely speculation, but while the output is 350hp it may entail overboost to 380hp.
I know there is a feature to increase tq, but generally overboost in a true sense would mean more power overall so im interested to see that play out.
That's something sales/marketing would likely handle, but I can definitely see that being a thing given the clientele and competition.
The 86 may have had that sort of thing in other countries, but I can't remember. I don't think they did anything in N.A.
I hate that my A70 is a targa... HATE it.
I will never own another one and for me its all about weight and chassis flex. the seals thing is meh, but it's more livable than the former two items.
Most stuff these days can be changed fairly easily, at least when it comes to panels and such... Just edit the model and produce the new version.
That said, not sure what the actual changes are, as I did not push for that information. I try to just listen and not be forceful with anything...
good questions.
because the sales of the A80 were so much lower than A70, Toyota decided that was going to be the last halo sports car for a long time. They then famously put all efforts into economy cars, and this was commonly known as the appliance era. Common knowledge more or less...
Prior...
honestly, there is still plenty of stuff not finalized; the car is still in testing and they are still changing things.
to answer your question though, yes, mostly body panel/aero and other easily adaptable things as far as I'm aware.
the mules and GRMN race car are built off the same exact design; the production car is not. it is different and apparently enough to be noticeable, but that's all I have.
