  1. Lexington, KY

Maybe today but definitely tomorrow - they worked me in. May see you there when I pick it up!
  2. 2021 F1 season prediction Challenge! - With Prize From APEX Race Parts!

I just want to say again what other's have noted: We had an exciting race at Paul Ricard. :D
  3. Lexington, KY

Dude I just dropped my car off there today for a downpipe install! Glad you found a shop you were comfortable with. On another note, I have a bunch of travel coming up in July but I'd still like to try and do some kind of small get together if people want to. Maybe August? Nothing better than an...
  4. Extreme Burbles with tuning

Hold my beer! (please note I do not condone drinking and driving or drinking and sitting in your car parked in the driveway revving it like a maniac to hear the cool pops and burbles)
  5. Longterm Heat Damage

Just running errands or putting around town, no. After spirited drives or track work, always. Not because of the paint, though, but just for a little additional help cooling things down from an internals perspective. In addition to letting the car idle for a bit (with the hood open). It's...
  6. Carbon Fiber Hood Vents / Covers

This looks great! Nice work. Crazy question, but when you put your hand above these with the car warmed up, can you feel any airflow (warm most likely) coming from them?
  7. A91 & Recent 2021 Impossible to Tune / ECU manufactured after 2020/6 is locked? [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Just a quick note - encryption is difficult to do right, especially if their motivation is to protect against a company who will attempt to pick apart their work and break it (e.g., encryption to protect your kid sister's journal vs. encryption to protect against a determined adversary). These...
  8. Verus AOS Consensus? (It work?)

On new cars, with various types of bolt-ons, doing types of driving we're not entirely sure about. It will be interesting to see how much oil they start collecting as: 1) The miles add up; and 2) More people doing HPDE and other types of racing install these kits (my use-case). I see it as a...
  9. Verus AOS Consensus? (It work?)

I'm assuming this is what you're talking about: https://www.mishimoto.com/toyota-supra-baffled-oil-catch-can-2020.html.
  10. Verus AOS Consensus? (It work?)

Reached out to Verus about this, just an FYI.
  11. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I think it's one factor, with viscosity at high (but normal) temperatures also playing a role. Again, this is just my opinion and all speculation at this point. I want data to make an informed decision. Only testing by us owners and the fine folks at Toyota (and likely BMW) will ultimately be...
  12. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Most wanted new update to the '22 cars: An f'ing dipstick.
  13. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Sorry for the delayed response - been a busy week. Ran Mobile 1 5w40 in the M3 (which remained stock) from oil change #1 until I stupidly sold it 5 years later. The oil consumption was very low, but certainly there. Always carried a quart of oil with me both when driving around town and when on...
  14. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

As I noted above, I've only had the warning once just over 2500 miles, which I consider normal during break-in. I know I'm in the minority, but I'd consider this normal (every 2500 - 5000 miles) for any M or "M-lite" motor. My M3 did this and I put 120k miles on it with no other issues. Much...
  15. Catted vs. Uncatted Downpipe

It is strong! Funny, though, I actually like the smell. I'll run the AA catted until they break the '21 ECUs then buy a high-quality uncatted downpipe to run and tune out the CEL. I'd run this aFe uncatted I have but they made some mistakes with this thing... and they want me to pay for shipping...
  16. Catted vs. Uncatted Downpipe

I now have an AA catted and an aFe uncatted sitting in my office. AA is going on the car now due to a terrible design flaw in the aFe (which they have since stopped making - let me know if you want me to post pics). Until there are some dyno numbers out there for the different versions from...
  17. Active Autowerke DOWNPIPES IN STOCK!

It arrived a day early. So beautiful... should have sent a poet... Josh - you rock. Happy customer here!
  18. Alignment on stock suspension question

    You're right! I'm sorry - I've deleted my post.
  19. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I got to the bottom line, the warning came on, added a quart, and it was to the top line. This was a little over 2500 miles on the original oil. Totally normal, especially for break-in.
