  1. HPDE and hot weather

Yeah, you hit two areas that are my biggest concerns: tires and brakes (with IAT being the 3rd). Neither are really meant for track work. Both are subjective (the latter in pedal feel), but I've been less than impressed with brakes on this car in general, even on the street. I don't foresee...
  2. HPDE and hot weather

Worried in terms of doing damage? No, especially not after a change to 5w-30 engine oil. Worried about maintaining consistent performance? Yes, in regards to high IAT and the plastic intake manifold we have on this car from the factory. I'm not sure there's a good fix for this without cutting...
  3. Lug Stud Stuck/Spinning

I cannot imagine torqueing lug nuts enough to strip multiple out. Must have been an impact gun at maximum setting. I feel like the dang thing would pull me off of my feet and spin me around like a cartoon character before it did that kind of damage. They must have had a grizzly bear working on...
  4. Coming from a Manual Track Car, Left Foot Braking Question

If I may ask, how was this free track day? Doing this on July 4th at NCM and will be the first time on track with this car. I have experience with other vehicles on the track, but it has been a while. Seems like it will be a good refresher at the very least.
  5. Sell?!

We're kind of hijacking this thread, but did they make a recommendation on oil? 5w-30? 5w-40?
  6. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Thanks for sharing this. I think it's interesting that the universal averages are based on vehicles with only 5400 miles on them when the B58 has been in production since 2015. I plan on doing this every time I change my oil, like you suggested (excellent advice), but it appears those interested...
  7. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

On your profile, it says you're in Miami - I assume that's where your dealership is as well? I'd say that's a pretty big sample size.
  8. Slow up shift at red line?

Coded it in - same issue.
  9. Slow up shift at red line?

Just for more data - I also experience this on my untuned '21. The ZF8 in Sport+ mode on automatic seems to be more aggressive, faster, and know what gear I should be in better than I do anyways. :D
  10. // StudioRSR: VF x CSF Supra Billet Intake Manifold is Ready!! \\

Will this fit a '21? I can't seem to finding anything indicating it wouldn't, but I don't know the differences (if any) between years related to the intake manifolds. What about on an untunable car? Besides lowering intake temperatures in a heat-soak situation, which would allow the car to use...
  11. What performance mods for 21 without tune?

Cup 2's are always an awesome choice, but you're limiting yourself on the types of weather it's safe to drive in, and you'll be replacing them quite often. I'm not kidding about the weather limitation - it's rough in anything but very light rain, in my experience.
  12. What performance mods for 21 without tune?

This cannot be overstated and is my next costly upgrade. Even with minor modifications, you'll be wanting better tires than they put on the car from the factory. Maybe I'm just not running the right pressures, but I've been underwhelmed.
  13. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Very interesting. Even more interesting. It's really just another shot in the war that's been going on for decades between manufacturers and tuners. Manufacturers rightly don't want to pay if you cause problems by operating your car outside of spec with parts they don't authorize. People want...
  14. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

What tables are you referring to? With a piggyback solution, I was under the impression that it was undetectable if removed because it was an in-line solution and the ECU was left untouched. I ask this only for my own edification - I'm just running a JB+ at the moment and don't care about the...
  15. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Interesting - how would they do that?
  16. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Based on what's in the manual, and what BMW has said in the past about this "issue" regarding their M and "M-lite" cars, I don't believe they'll see 1L of oil consumption in 2500 miles (especially during burn-in) as a problem. I don't, personally, though I know I'm in the minority on this forum...
  17. What’s the best downpipe for a 2021 Untunable A91

Had an AA catted downpipe installed on my untunable '21 late last week with the stock exhaust (AWE Track is actually out for delivery right now with FedEx). Definitely more power and sounds great with the stock exhaust! It's more raspy and aggressive but not obnoxiously so at all. Louder and...
  18. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

An update and some thoughts: Changed the oil and filter over the weekend at 2700 miles. Had to add 1L up to this point after receiving a minimum oil level warning just past 2500 miles. Actually ended up going with the factory 0w-20 oil (the correct GR Supra oil), as I couldn't find what I wanted...
  19. A91 & Recent 2021 Impossible to Tune / ECU manufactured after 2020/6 is locked? [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

In addition, I noticed they talked about there being a "security chip" on in the ECU this iteration. Most commonly this is where the encryption keys are stored (this is speculation). So when you're trying to "jailbreak" something like this, you're no longer looking to snag the keys in plaintext...
  20. Climate control question - feels like AC turns on even though it's off

I noticed this yesterday! Driving with the windows down (beautifully cool weather here in Central KY) and the climate control on 65, one line on the blower (?), and it felt like the AC was on. Didn't know it would kick it on to dehumidify, but it makes sense. Not knowing how the AC is designed...
