Hey man, a set of ID2000s for a JZ costs $1500, and that's a much easier pill to swallow than $5k! But you're right, we'll just have to wait and see.
For all the the bad and good of the Subaru collaboration, at least Subie's ECUs are all unlocked and easy to tune. It's really an underrated...
I'm still banking on Toyota incorporating their D4S hybrid injection. I'm also hoping they will take it easy on ECU encryption, but that might be wishful thinking. Tada-San is still saying "tuner-friendly" so we'll see.
Things called "overboost" move cars out the showroom, I guess. First thing I'm doing if I get one early is getting it to somebody who can crack the ECU and "overboosting" it by turning up the boost till things start breaking.
I have to agree, not that they aren't capable, but just that I don't think they have the branding to do so. Leaving aside the obvious R&D costs that Toyota doesn't want to cough up, the Lexus brand seems to be trying to go higher up the ranks with the LC going head to head with Aston Martin and...

The author of this article seems confused with all this AWD and Hybrid news, but afaik first person to say Pebble Beach.
1490kg is nearly a hundred pounds lighter than the 3384 lbs that everyone else was quoting. I guess we'll have to wait on something official from BMW themselves.
Was going through the articles that @2JZ-No-Sh*t posted and this one caught my eye:

As far as I know, it's the first article that stated the suspension types. I was looking at the videos trying to...
Btw Sutcliffe said "just under 40 grand", so lets assume that means 39,995 GBP. The Boxster in the UK stars at 44700 GBP, so let's call that a 10% difference. The US Boxster starts at $59k, so 10% off of that is roughly $53k.
So, maybe we'll see a 50k Supra and a 55k Z4? That's just a guess...
Sweet! Sounds about right.
Highlights for me:
-"Quick as an M2, maybe quicker"
-Adaptive damping
-50KG lighter than the outgoing model (E89 was 1,420–1,525 kg (3,131–3,362 lb)
-340hp
-ZF Auto, but an M version later with a DCT
-eLSD
-"Feels like a proper, old school, involving BMW"...
FT1 was unveiled at Detroit IIRC. Plus, if none of the Germans want to release things at Detroit, then the spotlight will fully be on the Supra. Seems like a win-win in that regard.
Also, It's not that far of a drive for me :p
Maybe with the NASCAR integration, we'll get to do some laps at Texas Motor Speedway :p
Yea but for real, Toyota USA, this would be cool. Some of the events from back in the Scion days were awesome, and many of us would love to see that manufacturer support at the community level again.
Have you driven both? The hardtops are objectively stiffer, that's just inherent of having a full structure. In my comparisons, turn in response is better and they aged far better than the targas in regards to the rear end shimmy that so many MKIVs have due to bushing wear. Of course, you can...
