I want to personally thank everyone here for the laughs and discussion. Much of the information I collected here was passed on in different mediums and may have indirectly shaped the new car. This was a fun and entertaining exercise that also afforded me the ability to gauge and understand other...
I never said the JZ was developed before the RB; I said it came out a year later. your reading comprehension is awful, though it matches your retorts so at least you're consistent.
The official target has been $55k USD since I first came to this board... that really seems to bother some folks, and there was a wrench thrown into the works in regards to lower trim levels, but those apparently did not come to fruition. so...
It's the GR Supra and a few trims above that that...
I'm not fooling anyone with facts, especially not one as intelligent as yourself... clearly.
and yeah, NOTHING to do with it lol.
I also don't think anyone I know would say the RB26 is greatest motor to ever come out of Japan; I know I wouldn't say that about the 1JZ or 2JZ. It would be more...
I never said they weren't great cars capable of great things. In fact, I said quite the opposite. My argument was specifically in regards to the RB26 as an engine, of which was based in fact, and something you have yet to refute aside from saying "I love them and because of that they are the...
Akio specifically told Tada that he was going to keep him employed as long as possible in order to season the junior engineers in addition to finishing the 86 and Supra of course.
not the king of anything aside from awd lol
there's a reason a ton of people pull their RBs and swap in JZs in Japan and Australia...
and it doesn't matter that the RB lineage goes back to 1985... we're talking RB26 specifically o_O
you also didn't refute anything I said with facts.
hmmmmmmmm
"Will it be offered with a manual gearbox?
We’re still in discussion about these details, so we don’t know what the final production car will use yet."
Nah not really... the 1J was out in '90, a year behind the RB, and both were making decent power for that time, but they also didnt try to get really crazy then without building motors. Nearly all of the shop cars of the era had built motors...
The RB26 is legendary because of the racing wins...
I've been discussing this with Guff and I don't believe there is a 4 cylinder option. To reiterate something I said quite some time ago, I don't think it ever went past initial testing due to a total lack of information/commentary.
the GR Concept doesn't even have a drivetrain, but GT300 cars are free to replace the engines with those from the same manufacturer while the GT3 cars are not allowed to replace the engines.
