they are still testing a ton of stuff right now; I cant give details, but work is still very much in progress.
if you want a manual, I would recommend spamming Toyota USA. I dont know that will have an effect, but at least they will be very aware of the growing sentiments on here.
yeah, that has never changed. I was told they would be stringing things along a bit better than nothing for a full 10 months though, but it's not engineering or my decision to make.
I think it's kinda counter-intuitive however.
It has those 240z-ish lines that lend themselves to that; the A70 looks pretty damn good wingless as well (but im biased lol)
I dislike the A80 without a wing.
it's now set for early 2019 and that's even coming from my sources... they decided to not show the production concept and instead just do the GT3 and then production next year.
oh well...
Tada has been referring to it as the new Supra as early as last spring (more or less officially in company circles), so yeah it was pretty much a done deal a long time ago. It was fun to watch people argue about it though, and I'm sure others within Toyota debated the same thing.
Akio and Tada...

I understood there to be a reveal of the production concept (vs race) before that, but maybe that is no longer the case, or maybe that will still happen with...
As far as what was said, it was all in house for the 2JZ. The TRD engineer that I spoke with about much of this said Yamaha actually designed full engines for Toyota versus just cylinder heads like many think. I was also under the impression they only did heads, specifically due to that being...
@Guff
Apparently Toyota Netherlands said the production car will debut in NYC according to some folks on FB.
Perhaps TG meant when the car is ready for sale or something? I dunno.
You are free to believe what you will, but I'm involved with many of the people that made these things happen and still do, but I digress. Also, yes they do outsource, always have and always will; they just didn't this time because it wasn't necessary.
The Getrag thing is still relevant because...
