Actually, the 2JZ Johann A. Krause Maschinefabrik GmbH story is a myth. folks even contacted them and asked about this to confirm the authenticity and they said they had zero part in the development.
It was all Toyota, which has also been confirmed by members of TRD and Toyotas engineering team...
I would assume market research from that segment, because it was already an auto by the time they started asking me a bunch of questions.
That said, you'd have to get an answer from Tada etc to be definitive.
hard to believe that the leaked renders aren't connected to Toyota given the degree of detail :)

I might just have a different sense of humor, but some of it I found rather comical, though I concede they are idiots that I picture living in their mothers basements.
the two main things that facilitate it are a fast auto/DCT/PDK and launch control; those change things quite a bit.
the manual Cayman S is half a second slower for reference... so right around where your car is at ~4s

real world is always fairly different than test, but test numbers (in other words, perfect conditions) show the 718 S PDK doing anywhere between 3.6-3.8s 0-60.

time will tell; like I said I really have very little specific info on those higher tier cars that would allow a deeper comparison, and even then I couldn't say much as per usual.
it would be pretty badass to have a Yamaha tuned variant of that Lexus TT in the upper models though :)
I definitely wouldn't rule out Toyota using a different power plant for at least one of the GR models. full disclosure: I definitely don't know a ton about the GR stuff, only the fundamentals and goals, but having the so called S58 in the GRMN model would make a lot of sense both from a...
hard to not compare them.. my buddy in FL ran 941whp through his 2J for 3 years with only fuel, cams, and standalone lol. I dunno if he even had headstuds...
it ended up crankwalking from him having a 3200lb TRD pressure plate, but other than that was still going.
ask and ye shall receive.
weight is dynamic, especially if people start tacking options on to the car at the last minute. what's important is maintaining that P/W ratio more than anything else. (this is general commentary on development)
lighter the better, but you can't have everything. we...
