Well, went to get the car aligned today. The shop I normally go to got a new machine, which the Supra doesnt fit on anymore.... Called around to a couple other "race shops" and they can do it but not until next week. Guess I am not going racing this weekend. Might be time to clone @razorlab...
Probably not a bad idea. I am going to bring my own allen socket and wrench for them too cause last time they didnt have one to adjust front camber...
Well yes and no. They fight me every time. Try to make excuses why they cant do it. I have to physically make them prove that they cant do it...
Got my last SPL parts on last night. Hopefully it stops raining now so I can attempt to get an alignment. Not sure if the car is going to make it up on the alignment rack with the splitter and diffuser. I will bring my race ramps but its still going to be close...
The shock shaft is super thick on the Ohlins and wont go through the pillow ball like the factory top hats. That makes the spring perch sit about an inch higher than it should. On top of that, there arent enough threads on the shock body to compensate for it. You literally have to run the shock...
As long as he doesnt slam the thing, he will end up having just a hair of preload on the front springs with the Verus plates. This is as low as you can go on the Verus plates while still having preload.... Its like 1/2-3/4" lower than stock.
Also, I will second getting the rear toe arms with...
Those tires are wasted!
Do you have a local machine shop that has the ability to make some misalignment spacers on a lathe? If not, I can probably whip up another set. Its just 2 spacers you need to get the camber plates to work.
I got mine to get back in the race class I got kicked out of in my Evo. Then once I got the Supra all setup for its series, they cancel the series. Worked out great....
It was 34 out so not much stuck to the ground. I would say a good 6-8" fell but only 2" stuck. It's 80% melted already haha.
Never been on a track in the snow on 200tw tires. Could be fun! Haha. Not surprised it snowed there too though. Did you get any at your house?
The Verus plates dont work with the Ohlins, unless you know someone, like me, who made them work. Just let me know when you make the swap and I will give you all the info needed to make them work.
As much as we need the rain, it's bad timing. I hope it clears up by next weekend as that's when I'm going. Hopefully you somehow get a dry day at the track and that they don't shut everything down.
