Never tried resetting with MX+, but do you have tune on yours? Can't recall. I believe you have dp, intake, pipes. If not most straight answer is have your tune (bm3, mhd, ...) map it to ECU.

To be fair 86 didn't exactly have sexy lights rear or front. Didn't have xenon, laser, neon, etc. don't even remember. First things I changed was front/rear lamps and a short shifter! I doubt anyone's changing 2017+ rear lamps unless they love Valenti design or something...

That almost sounds like loose connection. Maybe wire harness, which are mostly hand made, is faulty (short wire in terminal or something)? Surest way to confirm would be to swap out, unless there is a voltage readout you could get somehow... /Total speculation off/
