18x11 and still need spacers? What's the offset????
My numbers are vinyl. I couldn't find metal anywhere on the car that I wanted to put numbers.
As for the great brake pad debate, nobody seems to worry about brake pad wear versus rotor wear, other than me?
We all know either the pad is going...
Stock suspension but added camber plates (camber limited by strut spring contacting inner surface of the strut tower). Camber is maxed out to an unknown amount. Zero toe in the front.
Rear alignment is whatever came with the car when I bought it. I haven't even thought to use my toe plates yet...
I have all my tools n stuff in a Milwaukee modular roll-around. I have the bottom two sections:
For fluids, funnels, and cleaners, they are in a milk crate.
I like the roll around and milk crate because nothing slides around the back of the SUV en route to and from the track.
My helmets get...
After a year of ownership, I finally washed the car. I then followed up with a spray down with Turtle Wax Ceramic Detail Spray. The car looks great, IMO.
I hear all that. We've all had that conversation, on this forum, many times LOL. I.E. I usually tell the story of the dude that wasted four hours of my time while I helped him find a new set of *coils* for his car... but he actually meant *coilovers*. Or the guy that needed a shop to fix the...
I didn't have to rotate these, but yeah, swapping them around is easy enough. Or go you mean flopping on the wheel in case of camber wear?
I did five track days, so about 15 heat cycles.
I really like G-Loc or (the same pad just more money) Carbotech.
Not spending twice the amount on brake...
Ssstttoooppp it ?
As for the tire wear conversation, I'm very happy with the wear on my CRS. This is them when I pulled them off after too many heat cycles. No complaints.
All four were even.
Gotcha. Reducing costs and doing track days (safely) don't usually go well together ?
If your brakes are fine now and you are just trying to get them to last longer, a cooling kit won't really help unless you are currently glazing rotors or otherwise overheating pads. I could be wrong, though...
Yeah. It's a bummer. "I need race tires", "I need a harness", excuse after excuse. Such a bummer.
I did a track event the day after I bought my car, so was on new, OEM pads. They actually held up pretty well when paired with OEM tires and ABS. But... you are definitely ready to move up to...
Cheaper pads will melt down faster, so I guess that could work. It's an odd reason to run a cooling kit but who cares if it works for you? :headbang: Most people just run a better pad as you get one that works better and handles heat.
How does it get inside the disc? Cooling kits run air to...
Yes, lots of low-power cars with sequentials. My point wasn't that so much as *most* people like to play race car and dream of sequentials and paddle shifters. But when a car comes with them, then THAT isn't cool. I was laughing at the irony, not trying to join into the MT/AT debate. Paddle to...
I have a friend and two acquaintances that wasted years and $tens of thousand$ on VR4s. I tried to help work on one.
I can't, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would want to put themselves through the misery of building and tuning one.
And that's saying a LOT because I'm even okay with...
