I'm told throttle hang is *supposed* to make shifting easier, but I was never a fan. I had it tuned out of an old car I had. Drove me nuts, especially on track. bleh.
I assume CDV a restrictor in the clutch line to keep you from engaging/disengaging the clutch too fast. It doesn't play nice...
My post wasn't having anything to do with the manual vs auto debate, but we appreciate the input.
I'm pretty sure it's so they could sell cars based on hype. Then sell more cars based on new hype. Had MT cars been avail in the beginning, less cars would have been sold. Hell, you have people...
I find it interesting that people with manual transmissions love them because of "engagement". Then, at some point, a lot of us start to wish we had a sequential, because now we're in "race car" mode. Especially one with fuel/ignition cut so we can gas/brake/shift like Gran Turismo and click...
Forgot about this thread LOL.
Yesterday's race was a lot of fun to watch. I see more reasons why Perez is the number 2 driver. I guess conspiracy theorists will still claim his car is lesser to Max's, but anyway.... I continue to hope for Lando to end up on the podium. Can he just be an...
I have no experience with a bone stock mark four Supra, but I hear they are less than fun to drive.
I do see they almost pull 1G on a skid pad. That's pretty nice, but they don't transition well and are underwhelmingly powered.
I chalk it up to being one of those "platform specific things that everybody does as a group because it's fun to do things together".
With one of the other cars I used to have, the owners were all buying OEM wheels from different years/trims and swapping them onto their car. That's the ONLY...
I miss having track day buddies. All my friends that used to do track days have either moved on or moved to other states lol I do look forward to seeing @Evolution at our events, though.
I still go and drive by myself the rest of the time, but it's definitely lacking....
As for buying stuff...
Mostly because I'm a cheap bastard so I can spend more money on track days than parts. ?
All the practice is paying off this season, though.. So worth it, I suppose.
Well, shops are in the business of making money, so keep that in mind. A brake cooling kit *shouldn't* hurt anything, assuming...
1. Right? Best platform, out of the box, I've ever run (because I haven't owned a Porsche ?)
2. Just say goodbye to your wallet now. Racing is a bug. A leeching bug. Okay, a leech. Or a tick. But yeah, once you start down that road....?
But it's a fun road.
I finally heard mine, the other...
Oh it is, no doubt! I had it on one of my old cars, back when I was into drag racing. Mine did an ignition cut so the car had a satisfying "pop!" When I'd let the clutch out. ? Sounded very serious LOL.
If you are looking at effective modifications vs rumor/cost out of your pocket, shoot me a PM. Internet rumor can cost you a fortune with no result. I (and a select few others) can give you my opinion based on experience. ????
P.S. I am a minimalist and only do stuff when my car needs it and...
I've seen cars drive around with no hoods. I'm sure they get wet.
First step is to figure what about it you think may be unsafe, then deal with that. Mods are cool but not worth stressing over, IMO.
That's kinda the car community, especially with a relatively new platform.
With the last car I had, there were people saying they would basically change oil before and after every track day. Why? "Why not?" Was basically the reply lol.
Some people like wasting money and feel warm and fuzzy by...
Doing mine this weekend (2021s). Can't wait. Nothing bums me out more than basic black wheels ?
I usually keep my track wheels and tires on all the time because I can't stand looking at the stock stuff. I'll grab a set of spacers for the rear, throw the stock wheels back on, and start driving...
