I'm also running Hawk pads at the moment since I didn't have much of a choice. Not a lot of options out there. Raybestos will continue to be my go-to as soon as they make a pad for these cars.
That course is SUPER fun. My first time there was a GTA event so it was a bit stressful to learn a track while competing. I never got a serious hot lap in but did get an 80% lap... So I have a score to settle with that place. I'm trying to get back there before that car sells. ?
Pads are pads, there isn't any magic to them, so I've just been asking a lot of questions, trying to figure out why everyone says CSG does stuff no other pad can do. It's weird to me. Every other platform seems to agree on using one of a limited number of pads. Then Supra people swear by CSG...
I was running Hawk DTC 60 at ACS and braking from about 130-40. At my home track, it's pretty brake intensive. I haven't had fade. This in a car that is about 3250 and 450whp. What kind of courses are you guys on that you are cooking these things? Any video?
I H A T E yellow cars, but when I saw a Supra in that color I was sold. Pictures absolutely do not convey how it actually shows. And yes: PSS is not a great tire.
Surely someone has some data by now. From what I'm seeing, our cars have REALLY good cooling and, unless you have a million HP, it seems a good pad and fluid is all the cars need. I've been under my car and am very impressed with what Toyota has done. One of the reasons I bought this car is that...
I'm very curious to see if there is any water that gets trapped and subsequent corrosion issues.
Well, at least you wash them, from the looks of it. I haven't washed mine since I bought it. I just use it for fun drives and track days, so I don't realize it's dirty until it's out and parked...
I don't understand it either. I chalk it up to my being lazy. I don't feel like doing algebra every time I go to put gas in the car, seeing how I pretty much never fill up from empty.
Well, yeah. That's every car that is taken to the track. FWIW this picture was taken approx 20hrs after...
Hm... well, for track use, I like Fortune Auto. They seem to do really well in general, and I assume they work as well for the Supra as other platforms. Super reasonably priced. Anything cheaper is worse.
For a bump above those, I like MCS. Not sure if they make a coilover for the Supra.
I'm...
