I agree, we're still at a point where anything other than commuter trips are something where the car dictates the planning, not you. I don't want to rely on an EV until I can dictate where we go, not the car.
As for roads and tips:
roads with curves and twists -- bonus marks for elevation changes to really get a feel for the brakes
highway to feel the acceleration. You'll also feel the very intrusive safety systems kick in a lot so you know what to dial down or turn off.
a slow drive through a road...
I've tracked mine, so I would've liked a lap timer or some more useful gauges. Not R35 levels of graphs on graphs, but just a few more things to monitor.
It's a pretty ambitious estimate to be honest, basically optimal driving techniques: holding constant speed, windows up, AC off, no radio, etc -- sounds like driving a base Mitsubishi Mirage. That being said, even the Supra can get over 400 miles to the tank if you leave it in comfort mode on...
Only partially related, a friend of mine who had 15mm spacers on his car (not a Supra), experienced some horrible wheel vibration when we went on a spirited cruise. We found that the spacer was expanding due to the heat on the brakes and tires and pushing the lug nuts out. And our OEM brakes get...
The Supra experience is for sure being one of the most eye-catching special cars on the road for everyone around.
Agreed on Teslas in the PNW. Way too many around, just like the Prius, as a way of preserving the climate.
I got the JB4 and heat shield in first so no problem for me there unless I'm removing them. I don't think I'm going beyond pump tunes until I get another car in the future, so my only reason to remove the cover would be for filter cleaning or using some gold reflective tape on the intake piping.
Got it sorted out this morning. The fresh perspective helped. I had to wedge some holes to line up properly, and I'm definitely not looking forward to any situations where I need to take this apart again.
As the title says. I'm having trouble getting the lid lined up to get the screws in. The rubber siding seems to be a bit too thick and what looks like a wiring loom also appears to be getting in the way.
Any advice?
I agree, it's bloody inconvenient. The front one is in such a place where I whack any bottle in there if I move my right arm, and both are far enough back where my arm has to be in an impossible angle for a bottle with a screw cap -- I really don't like holding the bottle and driving with...
Definitely start slow for making your build your own (power and cosmetic/aesthetic mods).
Things you should do ASAP:
The wind buffeting fix is essential for driving with windows down. Anything from the $9 Amazon fix to the purpose built wind deflectors.
I'd also get a PPF done ASAP from a...
