Yes I have experienced this multiple times. it is NOT the rev matching or rev hang.
After a hard 1-2 shift and clutch in is when it usually happens. It acts like you put the pedal to the floor in neutral. A bit unnerving.
My guess is that the car is just trying to de-pressurize the charge...
Things are looking pretty normal, but need a proper log to review properly. ~3k rpm to 6500 pull in 3rd or 4th + a shift up, then let off.

I've said it before, but honestly there is little benefit in unlocking a *mostly* stock car unless you want to run heavier E blends. Unless you just hate piggybacks, just save yourself ~2k (and warranty) and go that route.

Honestly with ACN91 fuel, you'll not be making much more power over stock either way.
So if you are locked ECU, I'd just do the JB4 for a small power bump, since it'll be much cheaper. ~350-450 secondhand typically. If you have ethanol available, that will help make way more power.

yeah I take the car places without ethanol pretty frequently. A plus of the JB4 is 5 seconds to flash between 93 and E30 on the fly.

Nah, Meth is the additional fuel. Will reduce the DME fuel demand substantially. Trims drop a lot, which should allow you to run more boost and ethanol.
I have reviewed some meth logs, but I've not custom tuned someone on it yet.
Here is a 99% meth log on an M340 for example...
Meth gains are huge lol, like 50whp+. It would need a new tune since boost requests would be much higher when fueling or octane are no longer the bottleneck.
Fair enough. I actually like the combo of MHD BEF + JB4 custom tune for E tunes. Seems like best of both worlds.

Guess the real benefit would be the ability to run up to E50 instead.
Either one works for JB4 as far as I can tell from the website, though it looks like CANbus is what is used for MHD or BM3 if you ever end up going a flextune with those down the line.
