I went direct to Femto. I bought an ECU from an X5 for 400 bucks, it was 200 each way to ship it, and 900 euro's for the clone service. $1800 all in. It took about 10 days, but it was during Christmas holiday.
Again, just wanna make sure you've got all the information right.
The Femto unlock and the clone allows you to access and modify all of the tables. With the unlock, you cannot access the second memory area, which allows for custom software to be loaded. The clone is 100% unlocked as if you had...
If you're talking about experiences with Visconti or PPE... those aren't 'creepy russians.' Those are both stateside companies.
Again- I'm very very excited to see this happen over here. Especially if we can get the price down enough to get some people out to B58 events. So I'm hopeful. But at...
This is... off-putting for sure. There is literally nothing creepy, shady, or whatever by Femto. They're good folks doing good work.
Just like.. when you send it to Femto?
Edit: while we all are very anxious to have a stateside unlock, calling the competition any of these things because of...
Some things:
1) The readout isn't real. Even sort of.
2) If you don't track the car, what does it matter how much power you make? Bragging rights?
c) Shop cars are usually built to race- this is why shops have race programs (EOSpeed/P2uned/Titan, etc)
4) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ chase those HP numbers if...
No clue, you tell me. Aside from understanding 'what more boost is going to do to your MPH or ET' it's worthless.
The only data that matters to me is 1/4 mile time. You can use a combination of hp and torque to figure out data about where you should be, but even then, that's not always...
With remote tuning these days, I just don't think there's a ton of point in going to the dyno. Dyno numbers on their own aren't interesting, it's just a nice easy way to get data.
425-450 I'd guess. I don't think you're too far off?
@Jesse DaBears MAKE A GUESS. If you get it right, I'll give you a set of spark plugs and a quart of oil.
I'm going Hanlon's Razor here. I think there is some language barrier/something lost in translation. @DR.Tuning's profile says he's based in China.
Maybe he meant 'warranty that shit.'
