400z is a redesign of 370z which is a redesign of 350z. That makes this platform 20years old overall. And this is not a 911 thats being perfected since 50years. So this vs brand new developed BMW platform with Cayman wheelabse. Besides 370z wasnt some great handling car, it was just fine. So...
I belive they misstyped there, should be 3.0 not 2.0. This post is 70weeks old, there was no 2.0 on sale at that time, not even in EU, they also state 2020 Supra. And there is no way 2.0 is 330 whp.
Probably in reality 2.0 is around 270-280hp and 400-420nm on the crank, but no more.
Even if it drives better than 3.0 coz its lighter (obvious, not only engine is lighter but its moved back making this car mid-front engined, 3.0 cant achieve that), its still way 2 expensive, especially when they cut so many features (comfort zone, dampers, open diff, smaller brakes, slower...
Yea and I suspect they are same width as 19's on 3.0. But wonder what is the exact weight. Do You think they may be heavier than forged 19's on 3.0? Since they are cast I'd assume so... But 1" smaller ;)
There is also that heavy battery in the trunk (64lbs on 3.0, prob same as 2.0) and maybe on...
Cool, wonder how much is to save there :)
The goal for 2.0 for me would be weight reduction into 29XX lbs (around 1350kg) so I'm wodering where are the best places to cut and not going broke meanwhile :D Wonder how much stock wheels weight too :hmm:
Looks like weight reduction is vs stock brembo 3.0 system, so weight loss on 2.0 will be def smaller. Dunno if it will be -10lbs per side vs stock 2.0 system.
Any videos of those 13.2's? Fastest I saw so far was 13.4 I think :hmm:
But yea, DP + Tune should be around ~330hp. That + lower weight = mid 12's.
Also, stage 1 Golf R will eat 2.0 I think ;) I'm interested how it compares to Civic Type-R tho.
Spoken to AWE about the exhaust.
They would like to make one this year BUT they need a car so they can take a look and try to put something together. So if someone is near them and can provide the car that would make the process start....
3.0 vs 2.0. Some basic parts thrown on both like swaybars, springs.
TLDR: 2.0 handles better, sharper turn in and feels even lighter than it is. For tracking and in a spirit of a light car like Silva/AE86 - 2.0, for luxury communte on daily and sound - 3.0
This is a comparo by great, race car...
Ye, they are smaller in diameter but cast not forged. I suspect they actually may be heavier than forged 19's :rolleyes1: Hope sum1 weighted them or got any info :hmm:
Souds pretty cool, now it has way deeper sound to it. Was there any mention how much lighter it is compared to stock?
Now I wonder how it would sound like with catless downpipe :p
Swaybar size is the same between 3.0 and 2.0, I checked in EU specs, so sway bars from 3.0 should fit 2.0 I guess?
I looked on eibach pro kit springs too. I asked Eibach Poland, officially there is no Pro Kit for 2.0 but the springs for 3.0 got same ratings as Z4 M40i version, the same parts...
This is interesting :hmm:
Its 90% not a new GR86 since this one is based on 1st gen and those air ducts MAY suggest mid-engine layout.
I totally see enough space to put the engine behind the driver in the current 86.
Or its just some tuner 1-off for the TAS that is not happening.
Probably around 1s max, probably gained on braking. Maybe just under 11. Its a quite short track too. But SuperSports used on Supra are quite soft and they are really good for posting fast times. In fact on my local track MPSS on Supra put marginally better time than most of the semi slicks...
That is really fast time it put there. Give it Cup2's and this is C8 Z51 level, at least on that track.
But that steering on the hot lap is so nervous indeed...
RX7 seems raw. Both 2.0 and 3.0 are refined daily maschines that lack this visceral feel. 2.0 will just be sharper and lighter than 3.0, so it will be closer to RX7 handling wise. But it still will be modern, quite luxury sports car. If you want to replicate the RX7 feel... Matbe older Cayman...
Nah I cant sell cars, I wouldnt be able to give ppl bullshit every day just to sell something, if the car X was bad in my view I'd feel I need to tell them so they dont waste their money lol  I'm trying to give you all info I gathered + some thoughts from my personal driving experience...
