Oh, thats cool. U got any pic how does ti fit in the trunk in terms of space? Or could U take one if not, pretty please? :D
It gets in the trunk just fine? The opening is pretty narrow....
Tuning Supra to 450-500hp is quite easy ;)
I had Supra for some time to see how it is. And I use 86 daily - 222hp/245nm, 0-60 in around 5.8s ;)
As a daily Supra is just awesome, auto is super smooth in normal mode, car is comfortable. Biggest - imo is visiblity, its really bad. And for longer...
I drive manual 86 now, before manual BMW. I was thinking same like U no manual = its not an option. Then I went and drove one and man the car is good. It needs some tweaks to my personal preference like eliminating body roll through suspension mods but overall I find the car great, despite its...
Interesting. I wanna see this vs 2.0 head2head badly. Yes, 2.0 Supra will be faster but I wonder how much and how they will compare in feel.
My estimated GR86 performance manual, based on my 222hp/245nm GT86:
0-100kph ~5.9-6s
0-130kph ~9.0-9.5s
0-200kph ~25-27s
Depends on gearing too. On the...
Ok so uncatted downpipe could cause problems on smog test probably... but also should make turbo spool faster.
On the other hand muffler delete just for louder sound shouldnt affect emission tests, I guess..
Any1 can tell me how many and where are located the cats in stock exhaust?
I know there is one in downpipe, but where are the rest? Which one is the biggest/most restricitve?
I checked the difference in weight between manual and 8ZF on few BMW models and on average it appears manual is lighter around ~20kg (~45lbs), but thats just going over some interent specs, can be different on the Supra.
So You basically wanna turn 2.0 into almost 3.0 with all those upgrades while adding mass in the process ;)
It would have been more expensive too, still having 2.0 engine. I'd leave 2.0 as it is, maybe add mechanical LSD. Let owners mod the rest to their liking. Biggest appeal of 2.0 for me is...
I checked acceleration differences between auto Z4 20i and manual 20i, 0-60 difference is said to be 0.2s so manual 2.0 Supra should do 0-60 in around 5.2s and 0-100kph in around 5.4-5.5s. Also I'd expect 1/4 mile time to be up from around 13.5s for auto to something like 13.8-13.9 for manual...
If they give manual to 2.0 it MAY weight around 1360-1370kg (the difference between PDK 718 and manual is actually 40kg), easier to cut under 1350kg from that point. Then some suspension, some brakes, lighter, lower driver seat and maybe later down the line mechanical LSD. Tune it to 300-320hp...
I'm comming from tunned 86 and manual there adds to the experience ;)
After driving auto last year I decided to go with auto coz its sooogoood and I wanted it for the faster times on track and I thought manual is not comming anyway but... this new info makes me think about it again. Its a last...
Hope some reliable info will be released towards the end of the year, as I wanted to order a Supra early next year.
I wonder how much acceleration will suffer due to manual tho... :/
