That is actually pretty solid for only 258hp. This tunned to around 320, which
will be super easy, will do low-mid 4's to 60 and 12.x on 1/4.
Wonder what times will it achieve on tracks.
400Z on the horizon too... ;) Wonder what will they show...
Honestly main reason for auto is track performance for me - auto will just be faster, period. And when Im on the track I do care for every 0.5s I can cut down and be better than competition.
They may do indeed but still, they are minority, I would argue its few % that buy manual performance car and keep it for loooong.
I'm guilty too honestly. I wanna change the car early next year and 99% I'm gonna buy Supra and I dont think I wanna wait another 1.5year for manual to MAYBE be...
So majority is sold in auto anyways, nvm the reasons ;)
I looked at 86 since 2012, and still half are autos, same for 370Z, over half auto... I doubt sum1 keeps manual 370 for 10years.
They just dont sell, sadly :(
Out of all 718 (Cayman + Boxster) for sale here used, only 15% are in manual. BMW M2? 10%. Mustang is better coz 30% are in manual, rest also auto. Over half of used GT86 are in auto too. So, yeah.... I wouldnt hope for it, will be nice suprise for sure but...
I agree manual wouldnt sell. But I think they should have offered one just for the hype and PR.
I disagree with 2nd part. U dont need to be racecar driver to notice this ZF is not as fast as Porsche PDK or Ferrari Getrag's. Dual clutches are just faster, thats why they are used in race...
How the power "dies" at 5k rpm? :crazy: It's not 3.0 diesel, or is it? Looking at the dyno - sure max power is achieved at 5000 but 95% of it is carried almost flat till 6500 and it starts to rapidly fall at 6700, so there is 300 "dead" RPM till 7k that can be felt in a 3.0 too, max torque...
Thats even better coz I wanted to do stiffer springs + bigger front sway for roll reduce instead changing whole suspension.
Looking forward even more then :D
I just said what I heared from guys that sell ///M cars since years, thats all. Used market is full of autos here too, manual is rare. I dunno if M2 is different market... its actually simmilar in price. If someone is looking for a sports car here around 75k Euro he is going to cross shop Supra...
If someone is interested about 2.0 weight in EU spec, I reached to a dealer to get the 100% confirmed info since "100kg lighter than 3.0" talk was not specific enough for me:
Fuji Speedway Edition - limited to 200 units
[electronic adjustable seats, wireless charge, bigger brakes, e-diff...
Eh... every1 wants manual but when they offer one finally (lets say magical 2022) it wont sell. After the initial hype, praise on the internet the interest will die off and after 2 years there will be 80% auto and maybe 20% manuals sold. It's always like this, there is soooo much talk that...
Ofc, U are right, I do track so its nothing new to me. Point is, my local track is just like this one, 1:04 in my 86 on CUP2's, so its very relevant to me. And I went down from 1:06 to 04 by just changing tires to proper semi slicks leaving other things unchanged. I'm very curious where 2.0 will...
The laptimes on this are actually interesting.
Supra 2021 3.0: 1:03:43
Supra 2.0: 1:05:35 -----------> 1.92s slower than 3.0
86 TRD: 1:08:51---------------> 3.16s slower than 2.0, 5.08s slower than 3.0
Yes, the track is short and technical, big power does not...
U should see how 86 bounces... :D
And I like that, makes car lively. I dont like that play in the body, thats what I disliked in Alpine A110 and they fixed it in A110S with bigger swaybars and stiffer springs ;)
Eibach body roll reduce kit contains springs and swaybars, thats why I asked.
As...
So... the only thing about stock suspension I didnt like is that it felt bit 2soft and the car bodyrolled too much for my taste, especially on fast corners.
So what would be the best way to reduce body roll?
I was thinking about something like Eibach front sway bar + lowering springs...
