The electric power steering rack on my 2021 went out when my car had 1,500 miles and the dealer had to replace the whole assembly.
Itās bone stock and has never been tracked. All I was doing the day it failed was picking up steaks for the grill and I doubt that put any stress on it! ??
I...
Thereās at least two groups meeting up to drive into C&C.
One being organized on the ATX90 Facebook page and another being discussed offline.
The ATX90 group is meeting at the āFamily Viewing Areaā near ABIA (see pic of their invite). The other group may be heading into C&C a little earlier...
Iām going and prepaid the entry via the COTA website.
The admin on the austin Supra page said he was planning a meetup but nothing has come together yet. Iād like to drive in together but would like to get there early based on my experience with Cars & Coffee San Antonio (cars were streaming...
Same here on listening to the whole thing.
I played it in the background while keeping my office door closed and working on things that need to get done but aren't exciting.
It convinced me that I shouldn't consider trading in my MKV for a Z anytime soon. ?
Jason Cammisa had some interesting comments about the new Zās tuning and a few quirks he noticed when filming the Hagerty Z vs Supra drag race video.

Toyota Tundra
Infinity G37 w 6 speed manual
Traded G37 in on car for daughter so I technically didnāt have a car (wife & daughter had cars so no worries)

PS fav car was ā66 Mustang (high school and college car)
which exhaust sounds best with the stock cat?
Iām not planning to replace the catalytic converter but would like a better sound with dual exhaust exits and keeping the functionality of the valve/sport button.
Iām intrigued by the titanium exhausts but havenāt heard one in person.
A few of us were discussing local Toyota service departments during the Supra meetup and I noticed Charles Maund Toyota has been bought by Group 1 Automotive.

I just didnāt want to claim it after having a couple of recent claims on my wife and kidās cars. Unfortunately, Its not the first thing Iāve decided to just cut a check for vs running it through our insurance. ?
Interstingly, I got a quote for OEM glass through the local Safelite and they were $1,500 including calibration (quote attached)
The dealer outsources the glass install but itās done onsite at dealership.
Dealership cost breakdown (rounds up to $1400):
OEM glass + moulding through parts...
Similar to @AustinGRSupra, Iām in Central Texas and agree the Texas heat is hard on tires. Getting mine changed today at 15K miles and have never tracked my car but enjoy spirited drives in the Texas Hill Country.
The rears have adequate tread remaining but seem to have hardened and slip A LOT...
Thought Iād mention this for anyone using an Austin area dealer for work on their MKV (I know, not popular w the Supra crowd but Iām old and work too much to do my own maintenance/service)ā¦
Anyhow, I always look for service writers who are true car guys and also try to understand whoās working...
Woke up at 5a and decided to drive to San Antonio for C&C (guess Iām just old since I didnāt have an alarm set).
Met the San Antonio crew after they waved me over to the area they blocked for JDM cars. It was mostly Supras (5 MKV plus several other Supras). Good bunch of guys to chat with.
How does San Antonio have a Cars and Coffee and Austin doesnāt? Donāt get me wrong, there are a ton of cool car shows here but bummed to see Cars and Coffee fade away like it did.
PS. Went to the TX corvette Association hosted show in Boerne last weekend and it was amazing. No Supras at the...
