I noticed the same. I guess these cars are getting to the age now where the batteries are starting to show their age. Mine is a 2020 and has done its fair share of sitting and not being driven sadly.
Just to add some more info, I used an OBDLink MX+ adapter along with the BimmerLink app to see “Battery current state of charge” which was 41% prior to hooking a CTEK battery charger up for 24+ hours. Afterwards, it is showing 63%. After doing this and clearing all of the codes I had, I have...
It does kind of make sense, just odd that you don’t hear of it happening to people more often because there’s tons of people on flex fuel that I’ve never heard of having issues like this. Also, are you getting a code for your battery being very discharged (code 030E08)?
I’ve had that code pop up...
So mine did it multiple times the same as yours with no codes or drivetrain errors or anything. The only time it will throw codes and give the drivetrain error warning is if I stay on the throttle when it starts backfiring and cutting power. If I let off when it starts doing all that, it’s the...
I definitely have had the thought that it could be plugs, however I would think the issue would be prominent in more than one gear as well as on idle if it were plugs?
Hey guys. Been running into an issue when I'm doing WOT pulls past 4th gear. Seems to happen shortly after shifting to 5th gear, car loses power, starts backfiring, and if I don't let off the throttle it goes into limp mode with a drivetrain error, car drives like shit until turned off and back...
Would you mind posting up the S-Mode settings when you have a chance? I’ve already copied your normal mode settings, and would like to do the sport settings as well when I flash :)
I’d have to flash back to stock and drive it for a while to be able to tell you for sure. But for now I would say, if you do not already have XHP and are happy with how the car shifts, don’t bother with it.
It should still do the same as it does for the stock trans as far as faster shifts, etc. I just kept it the same way as when my transmission was stock, because the shop that installed my trans said it was fine to do so. I’ve thought about flashing back to stock to see if the shifts feel any...
I’ve been running pure stage 1 trans with stage 2 XHP since January. It’s not the smoothest but I think that’s just the nature of the transmission after it’s been built.
Did you end up adjusting the blips yet? Certain gears are harsh on up and downshifts now that I'm pure stage 1 trans and wondering what I can do about it.
Thank you! As far as checking the crank case breather hose, would that be something pretty easily noticeable from popping the hood and checking? Sorry for the dumb question, I’m not very mechanically inclined
