Need Help! a couple of weeks ago I ordered an aftermarket full brake kit for my Supra. It consisted of rotors, brake pads and hardware. I was dissapointed to find that the front rotors did not match the OEM rotors. All dimensions were correct from what information I could gather but the rotor hat on the new rotors was approximately one inch larger in diameter than the OEM rotor (OEM diameter is 6.77 inch) and would not allow clearance for the factory single piston BMW to mount up due to the larger diameter on the new rotor. I contacted the vendor and they insist that the rotors sent are the correct ones. I ordered them on line, and I am refraining to name the company for now but I am disappointed that it's been a week and still they have not made a determination on how they will handle and I am getting the feeling that they are going to tell me that my car has been modified (rep called it a "switcheroo" which is complete BS). BTW, the brake pads sent are correct for my BMW Calipers.

To make matters worse, There's a lot of confusion at the dealership as to the proper part number for the Supra 2.0 model that I have. I need help from anyone who has experience and knowledge as to proper OEM part numbers for full front and rear rotors and brake pads due to the vendor request. FYI, when I ordered the kit I provided the proper year, model and selected the 2.0 base option. No other information was requested. I feel like the vendor should be responsible for determining why their parts don't fit and that this information should have been requested prior to shipping the wrong product. Had no idea that this would become such a fiasco. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Did you get an aftermarket brake kit for the 2.0 specifically? Could've just upgraded to an OEM 3.0 kit.

So you want aftermarket or OEM part numbers? In one part of your story you state you bought aftermarket brakes and then another part you want OEM part numbers.

VENDOR WANTS THE OEM part number as the are adamant that they sent the correct parts. Also really didn’t want to upgrade to 3.0. Very happy with the car as is. Here are photos of the factory setup for fronts.

Both the 2.0 and 3.0 use the same size rotor hat (172 mm), but from looking at pictures, it seems that the OEM 4-pot calipers on the 3.0 have slightly more clearance to the rotor hat and could accommodate a larger hat size, whereas the 2.0 does not have the available space.

Can’t you post some pictures of the rotors that don’t fit? You can hide the logo if you don’t want to reveal the vendor.
