I've done some searching about "unlocked DMEs" and I have mixed results. SO, I know I'll catch some flack for these newby questions, but I'm willing to take the hit.

Here's my current situation: 2020 3.0 Premium with apparently nothing done to it (stock). I have an early date DME (see pic attached). I would rather do things correct one time instead of buying incompatible equipment or needing to swap equipment later. So, questions are as follows....I am only looking to get into the 450-500HP range... for now...

!. Can I "assume" my DME is unlocked because it's an early date or do I need to pay someone to unlock it before I tune it?
2. I understand the stock setup (intake, downpipe, exhaust) can handle up to roughly 500HP. Is this correct?
3. I THINK the easiest way to go would be an MHD tune with a Flex fuel setup. Is there a Flex Fuel system that's compatible/readable with MHD?
4. Other than the cost of the MHD and Flex Fuel setup, are there other expenses I'm overlooking?

Thanks in advance for helping !

I'm a newb but catless downpipe, unlock, ecutek, visconti flex fuel kit then tune. Should get you to 500hp on e50. That's my setup now. Then if you want to go full e85 then low pressure fuel pump, visconti direct port injection kit and another tune. I have extra shit but doesn't help until you have 700ish horse power. I have exhaust, cold air intake, blow off valve for the sounds. Don't take my word for it I have a 10 IQ.

If it has the recall done, it will need to be bench unlocked. You can either purchase the MHD unlocker, Mission unlocker, find a local tuner that can unlock it or send it somewhere to do it. *do not confuse this with FEMTO unlock that 21+ need to do*

You'll want a DP to make that power. GESI catted or catless, depending on what you want

MHD makes a flexfuel kit.

I would go with the MHD flex fuel and also buy their unlocker module. I used one to unlock mine which was very simple to do. Also, if I was to ever take it to Toyota and they did an ecu update which locks it again I have the unlocker sat in a drawer at home.
