Yeah it’s a huge swing on price - over a $1,000 difference for me. It’s not the enclosed part that worries me, it usually ends up being the driver on open transport.

IE: the driver doesn’t use ramps and scrapes the paint off the front bumper. I’ve had the undercarriage dragged on a Mustang. Wheels curbed and so on.

I try and keep my cars nice when I have them, if something out of my control happens in my possession I’m more accepting of that than straight negligence. There’s no guarantee with enclosed, but surprisingly I’ve never had an issue yet.
Yeah my driver was a very friendly guy and knew exactly what he was doing. He actually transported multiple Supras before! It seems to be a lottery with the drivers ?

Szott only got 1 CU Later and it was destroyed :( best case is to just monitor the allocations coming in using Toyota website and contact a bunch of dealers
Speak of Szott, I really want to share my terrible experience with them. I have been searching for a MT Supra at MSRP for a couple of months and heard they have an allocation available. I reached out to reserve the car and provided all the information they need (DL, credit card, etc) to the Sales Erik Schelesky. I checked with Erik for a couple of times and he ensured me everything was good.

I asked for an email confirmation of the reservation for several times but Erik never sent it to me and he never took my deposit. I've been trying to call Erik last week checking on the status but he has been ghosting me. He did not pick up any of my calls and didn't return any. When I finally got a hold of him, he told me they cannot sell the car to me because they can only serve the local area. BUT I confirmed with Erik that they can do out of state sales and told him I'm in Washington from day 1! ERIK GUARANTEED ME EVERYTHING IS FINE. I don't feel right when he started to ghost me as if they have something to hide. Maybe they decided to sell the car to another customer who is willing to pay a mark up so they canceled our deal.

I thought I can finally get the car I want for a long time , but I was let down and it wasted a month of my time. I even turned down cars from local dealer because I thought we had a deal. I'm very upset. We only had a verbal agreement on the sales so there's nothing I can do about this. This dealership is bullshit and they don't honor their words.

Yeah I didn't work with him, but I feel like that happens a lot with dealers right now. I know my salesman told me they sold my white allocation for MSRP 100% but who knows. I've had situations with other A91-MT's where the dealer had my deposit and said I'm first in line, but when the allocation comes in, suddenly the owner / owner's friend was first in line. Nothing I can do except get my deposit back. Hopefully you find a MT for MSRP (or less)!

I had a bad time with scottz when I went to test drive a AT about 10 months ago to see if I wanted a supra. They told a lot of lies. Went to other dealerships and asked the same questions and got way different and better answers.

Ended up working with Serra Toyota of saginaw. Much much better experience.
Was in and out in less then a hour.

Saginaw is really good. Too bad they sold their allocation in 30 minutes ?

Thanks buddy. I wish they have a biding contract for the dealers about allocations and waitlists.

I’m still looking for a car/allocation if anybody has any leads I may have missed. I’ve been ridiculously thorough and even contacted all dealers with reserved vehicles as a backup.

I probably should’ve bought the one I had lined up, but didn’t out of principle after the dealer tried to add an additional $324 to our agreed upon ADM of $3,676 plus $324 totaling 4K over. I can’t stand somebody that lies to your face and then tries to send you a screenshot of the OTD price on a deal sheet instead of the signed buyers order you requested.

I’m not sure how Toyota isn’t releasing any more allocations for Supras in general, but I’m not paying a massive ADM since the car market is only going to get worse for dealers and the guys underwater. There’s literally no supply of new Supras in general at the moment especially in the Southeast region.

I may miss out on the chance to have a new A91 MT in C U Later but came to the conclusion I’m fine with that after letting the other one go.

Sometimes letting go is what you have to do in order to get something else, possibly better, later on.

At the end of the day cars are just things, they come and go. It is so easy to get wrapped up in specifics or to get buried in a mountain of FOMO. Lord knows I've been there before, both with cars and with other things. Before I bought my current car I had been actively car shopping for a few years before then. I came so close two times to getting completely different cars, but the deals fell through for various reasons. Eventually, a few years later, I got the car I have now at a steal of a price... and it was exactly what I wanted, while the other vehicles I was looking at before were compromises.

I guess what I'm saying is, sometimes you lose what you think you want in order to later on find what you actually want.

100%, I appreciate your response and your thought process. That’s honestly exactly why I let the other one go.

I already didn’t want to pay over, but said it was worth it to get exactly what I wanted. I’m very specific when it comes to specs on cars and won’t settle. What’s frustrating is they really have created FOMO from simply barely producing the Supra. Not so much on my end, but more in the sense that somebody else will pay it.

I’m in for this spec or I’m not buying a Supra at all.

I wish they didn’t botch the new M2 or that would be an option. I sold my M2 Competition and GT350R at the height of everything.
