Hi all! I recently got a 24 strat blue supra, and I need to put on winter wheels since I live up north where winter is long and most of the times there are rains/snows.

I am looking at a squared setup with 19x9 et25 offset, and 255/40/19 continental extreme contact. I am not worries about the rear, since the ride height of 255/40 is almost the same as 275/35 (stock tire spec), but for the front, since the tire width is the same (255), im not sure if the increase of the aspect ratio will cause any issue. Ride height increased by 13mm. Is it significant enough to cause any issue? Has anyone ran this set up before? Thank you!

i'm a liite further north of you and ran 255 and 275 pilot alpins on the OE wheels and the car was a beast and blast to drive through the winter. were you looking for more sidewall in a square set up because of the road conditions?

Mostly because there is a set of wheels and tires on fb that I can grab off the shelf!

That’s the exact setup I ran this winter in the midwest. The pilot alpins seemed to handle the snow and kept things sorted for spirited driving when it was just cold. They performed well in rain as well.

I think you misunderstood! Im asking about the 40 aspect ratio. Is yours also 40 or the stock spec which is 35?

Oh right I didn't specify. I ran the OE tire specs so 255/35/19 Front and 275/35/19 Rears. Also be aware that the car has an electronic nanny that is sensitive to tire diameter variances. Theres a whole thread talking about it and may make you reconsider the square set up.

If you're interested in getting a set of summer wheels and using the OEM ones as the winter set, PM me. I have a set of new forged wheels sitting in my garage that i was going to wait til late spring before listing but might be timely for you.

You might consider trying to test fit them somehow - be sure they clear the brakes and struts both in the front. Pop one on the front of the car in the driveway of the seller if it's not too crazy to ask.

I did a square 255/35-19 on some Aodhan AFF7 wheels with ET 35 on my Z4 recently, and had to get 5mm spacers to clear the front calipers (gave me about 3mm clearance per feeler gauges). They're also not too far from the spring perch, I just checked and can barely pass a pinky between them with a little effort. Those slightly taller tires will get close.

You mentioned ET25 so you're probably fine, and I'd really expect you will be. A full cm out from my setup. But those are areas I'd consider. The rears seem to have boatloads of room with the narrower tires vs. stock.

Thank you! I have gave up the option. Seems like Apex just came out with these flow formed VS5 that are on sale with supra factory spec. Going to pre order soon!

i'm running 245/40R19 19x9.5 ET10 on stock springs, I have camber plates so it doesn't poke, very good fitment, ET20-25 would be perfect with stock camber. 245 on 9.5" has slight stretch so 0 curb protection but is has a nice handling response.

That is great info! This means 19x9 et25 with 255/40/19 tires should work. Thank you very much!

How does the additional ride height feel? Does it go over bumps easier?

To be honest I never had issue with stock wheels and tires over bumps. 245/40R19 is pretty close to stock diameters, it does ride a little better but I think it's mainly because the winter tires are softer than BMW spec PSS
