AA downpipe with MPE smell

I have been running AA downpipe and MPE for about 15k miles.

On every start up there was slight smell from day one. The other day I was idling for about 15 to 20 minutes and when I got out of the car i could smell fumes.

I smelled under hood and under the car, no smell. All the smell was coming from rear.

I don't notice any smel if I start car and it runs for a bit, but if I come and sniff the exaust I can smell fumes.

Is this normal for this set up or my downpipe went poop?

I also had an AA downpipe until last week and yes, there was definitely a slight smell especially at cold start but even after warm at idle

So if I idle for 20min you think it's normal to smell it once im out of the car, like at the door level not sniffing from rear

Yeah sound about right. I’m not sure if it’s “normal” but that’s what I was getting too

it’s more “high flow” than a stock cat with fewer cels, so it won’t catch all the fumes like the stock cat does

Mine stinks after I've been driving the car hard. Kind of a rotten egg/sulfur smell.

How do you check for exaust leak? Want to make sure not leaking. I smelled under hood, can't snell anything. Was thinking maybe somewhere at the bottom at dp connection or where I cut pipe for axleback mpe
