I've been at it for almost 6 hours with breaks, about to give up installing my aftermarket steering wheel, ive been pushing the horn and pushing in with a screwdriver i can easily popout the left side now but the right side is so difficult i managed to pop it out one time but the bottom one did not come with so i had to push it back in, I feel like i cant feel the spring on the right side at all anywhere. any body have any advice im close to keeping the oem steering wheel.
I had this problem too but found it much easier using allen keys

Pretty much any tool with a decent amount of flat surface area to really push on the spring without it slipping off will work. A flat head screwdriver is the worst way.

Man, I’m in the same boat, I was able to install a aftermarket steering wheel, not before breaking the plastic that holds the springs in place behind the airbag on both damn sides.
I had removed the airbag before to install my magnetic paddle shifters and it was easy as pie. Frustration got the best of me the second time.
Now I’m afraid of even trying to remove the airbag as I had to drill holes on the old steering wheel to be able to remove the springs that came out of place!
Talk about a pain in the butt.
The steering wheel looks good btw !
