I installed those on my car last year and they look great IMO.
Fitment looks really good. Does it replace the fake vents or are they just overlays? I am going to paint them body color and see how it turns out. They are really cheap too, so if they don't look right I can just toss them.

No, they are just really flexible pieces of carbon fiber that just stick onto the original fake vents. So I haven't seen any updates in awhile. Did you repair your old car or did you get a new one?

Hmm... Flexible and carbon fiber doesn't sound right...

So I'm guessing this is almost like a very thin veneer?

I just ordered one.

Found another option:

https://www.p2uned.com/product-page/a90-supra-p2uned-door-garnish

Looks to be another TRD copy. I have 0 idea how the quality/fitment of p2uned carbon is, or even if they make it themselves or whitelist a rexspeed or other chinese product.
The P2uned ones are what I had on my last car. The fit is okay. Needed some work to close up the gaps.

I'm really surprised no one has come up with some other design. The best would be to smooth out the OEM design to maintain a cohesive design...

The TRD garnish just breaks that up... badly.

Also looking into Door Garnishes, and not wanting the TRD ones.

Has anyone used the overlays? I would like to hear and maybe see an example of these on the car. They look like they stand out a bit and I would prefer a flush fitment.

So the door garnishes aren't vents or ever were supposed to be

they're actually giant canards and function perfectly as such.

they create some downforce while directing the air up over the rear quarter panels to the rear wing

One look at the FT1 can show you that statement is wrong.

So then I'll say they are canards with fake vents. There is fake vent trim there and fake passthrough vent trim in the rear bumper. This is to imitate the FT1 concept that had real vents where these fake pieces are.

------------------

I may go back tot the TRD Garnishes. Even though the TRD version breaks up the body lines of the car... at least they are functionally superior to stock and come without cheap plastic pseudo-vents slapped on them.

Now to figure out how to fix the fake vents on the rear bumper.

Supra mod makes very good open replacement vents for both the front bumper and hood

Not gonna lie. These look pretty good. Ebay for the win AGAIN! That's where I got my wind buffeting pieces.

Well, this was confirmed with the Toyota factory Supra lifecycle guy at SIV last year so....
