Anyone have any experience mounting AIM SmartyCam or GoPro to factory "strut tower bar"

I have my AIM SOLO up front for my lap times I just want to mount my AIM SmartyCam3 while I'm waiting for my rollbar to be delivered/installed. Anyone mounted a camera to it?

Sure. They make the big spring loaded clips that fit go pro

I used a clamp mount with rubber padding on the strut bar and it held up fine through a full track session — no crazy rattling. Just check clearance with the hood and engine movement. If you're not set on GoPro, check out https://www.gigwise.com/best-gopro-alternatives/ for other cam options that might be a bit cheaper or offer different mounts that work better in tight engine bay spots.

EDIT: just realized original thread is old.

Yeah i got one of those chunky c clamps from Amazon. Works great, doesn't scuff up the bar and is secure.
