I’m sweating just thinking about that statement ?

I wonder how they’d hold up on track days ?
Well... i can tell you first hand they do not like this weather... without the upgraded intake/intercooler they DO heat soak and pull power.
when doing a time trial event my faster time is the first couple laps of the first session. After that my lap times are several seconds slower.

I just haven't bitten the 5k bullet yet.

I have hood vent and heat shield that helps- but really only gives me and extra lap or two before it pulls power.

I only do a couple tracks days in July and Aug for fun. Mostly we switch to boating for those months and weekends too

You could always use these giant Amazon towels covers after boating @Rocksandblues lol. My wife and I had two jetskis we’d waterski behind. She’d always make us put towels on the car seats at the end of the day ?

Totally agree on tracking during the summer. You‘ve got to be hard core to drive Sebring in the summer (even though my MX5 or S2000 could always handle the heat). I’m holding off taking the Supra on track until October... These Amazon fancy towels may be the 1st mod I get ?

When I have a house with a 12-car garage... then I'll worry about keeping everything in mint condition forever. Since I don't, might as well have a few reasons I "need" to trade vehicles every few years. ;)

There is a member day tomo at my local track that is my first :( track day of July. Forecast is brutal heat and humidity 97 w swamp like humidity. We have several guests coming so it will be a fun low pressure day. lots of rides given and cars swapped around. Thank goodness we have AC in our track side clubhouse for between sessions.

For reference I will be down at least 5-7 mph on straight-way speed. tires will be extra greasy and i am sure will be letting air out every 10 mins!

When I had my 19 Miata, the top was always down unless it was raining or below 40. So I was driving with no AC even in 90+ temps with the sun beating down on me. I drive my Supra and rarely ever use the AC as my windows are always down even when temps were close to 100. The only time the windows are up is when it's raining or I'm on a long trip, because the wind noise will eventually drive me nuts. No silly towel for me! ?

Not gonna lie, the thread title got me too. Are you still sitting on towels?

I had to question, is that a hidden Supra feature? Should I buy towels? Should I go with Turkish? Bamboo? Egyptian???

Doesn’t matter which car, my wife always wants us to sit on a towel after any schweaty gym workout ?. So she always keeps a gym towel in the trunk. This thing looks like it’d actually stay in place all the way from gym to home ride. And trust me, I’d be heading straight home so no one would actually see these things in use. ?

I only use the seat cover after working out, beach, and hikes (you don't want sunscreen allover the leather). Leather seats absorb sweat into their upper layers and especially around the stitching. The salts in sweat are absorbed by the leather which causes splitting and cracking. Also the fats in sweat oxidize causing fading and discoloration. The leather seats on my wife's 2014 IS are still in really good shape thanks to the seat covers.

Yeah I know my wife is always right. I just hate to admit it ?
