is it bad to start the car in sport mode with BimmerCode? just curious if the car starts in comfort to warm up first?

Many forum members do it and haven't read any harmful impacts. It just increases throttle response, adjusts the shift point higher, tightens up the suspension, and opens the baffle for the burbles. Stay off WOT while the car warms up and you'll be fine. Basically drive it like a normal person for a few minutes. It'll be a little lurchy and loud until you can hit full send. I personally don't do it because I like my car to have a bit of chill with ability to go into d*** h**** mode when I want to.

I highly doubt there is any impact as you can turn on sport mode before even starting the vehicle. Because of that, that basically means it is already technically designed to allow it (safely).
