There will always be a roar, because that’s how it is stock.

Its just that the warm start one was a lot louder which is what it does now on cold starts

do you have cold starts turned off? You can always reflash the file, sometimes things get messed up during loading the tune.

It’s just not as black and white as you’re describing. I’ve got MHD+ and when I turned off cold start but did not check the “start up roar” button, the car does the start up roar most of the time. However, the very first time i cold started the car after flashing, it did zero roar and started up just like it does in stop/start. From there, the frequency of when it’d do the roar when cold increased over time to where it does it 99% of the time - and then randomly doesn’t like one time last week. It’s still quieter than the cold start function, but I’d like to make the car as stealth as possible in some situations like leaving the house very early. My detached garage is right by my neighbor’s bedroom window which they often leave open…

I don’t think it’s possible to completely turn off the startup roar through MHD because it’s a feature from factory. Perhaps it’s doable with a custom tune.

I don't think so. I can't even see the option in the app to turn it off. I'm using the ots tune not sure if that's doing it. Is it the reduce cold start noise option? If not I don't see it anywhere to completely turn off cold starts. If it is I have it deselected currently

reduce cold start is the option yes. If you have it deselected it means you will get cold starts.

Yeah then I'm not sure what's going on then. I'll try to reflash when i get home. Car doesn't do idle warm up phase anymore. I don't mind it but the car just always does the roar now and I don't want to annoy my neighbors In the morning ?

Seems a pretty lame condition to me but then again I've spent 40 years getting high performance big twin motorcycles engines with race exhaust systems started. This is "handbag" stuff to me, lol. As for neighbours well either they like a big twin firing up in the morning or they are gong to have an unhappy life. A Supra starting "roar" is like a fart in a wet paper bag really.

I love that roar start up after she’s warmed up. Would be so badass to hear that every time. Especially since I’m catless and AWE track exhaust. Might as well get my moneys worth and let Mufasa sing ?

That's my issue I get that roar all the time. Not the cold start one and I definitely wouldn't describe it as fart especially in a small garage right below someone's bedroom. It sounds like mini gun shots going off

If you have a straight through catless setup it’ll “roar” no matter what.

but there is a clear difference between the 2.

start it up back to back with it on then with it off.

My car is catless and even if I turn off sport mode before starting, it’s not quiet with start up roar. I live in a nice area of Chicago and my detached garage is right next to my rich neighbor’s bedroom in their huge, historic house on our quiet street. We don’t all live Down Under, Phil ?
