This is a tough question and I think even Toyota will have a tough time pricing this car with all the competition since HP is so cheap today.

I believe the models will stack as follows for the US market (mind you, I believe the car is a hard sell even at my predicted prices until I drive the car first hand).

GT86: $26,400 - $32,400 (Base - TRD Respectively from Toyota USA)
230i: $35,000 (according to BMW USA)
Supra 30i: $40,000 (my prediction)
M240i is $45,800 (according to BMW USA)
Z4 30i: $47,000 (currency converted from BMW UK)
Supra 40i: $50,000 (my prediction)
Z4 M40i: $56,500 (currency converted from BMW UK)
M2 Comp: $59,000 (according to BMW USA)

Although the GT86 doesn't compete with the 230i, it is important to mention. I believe the Supra won't be as cheap as it's 2 series equivalent because the Supra 30i would compete too much with the GT86 and will be using more quality materials, sound deadening etc. But if the supra price goes up too much, it won't be able to compete with mustangs, corvette's, Z's, and many sports cars with varying trims.
50k puts it just above the RC350 and below the RCF. If it matches the RCF's torque numbers with a lot less weight and relatively decent interior materials, i still think this will sell well.

I think there is some confusion here. The 20i and 30i are both 4 cyl B48's. I was under the impression the 20i Supra would not be available in the US.
Yep, you right. I was thinking of the 30 i being the 6 cylinder, but the lower rated trim of the 6 cylinder. Whoops.

In that case, it will be the same, except the 20 i will be the 30 i

That does seem high but you can get discounts on BMW. A new M240 @ about Ā£42k on the road can be bought for about Ā£33k as I did for my M235. There were also discounts on the M2 after about a year. No discounts on the M2 comp at the moment and unlikely on the Z4 for about a year. I dont know about Toyota but i feel it may be out of my budget if it comes in over Ā£45k
I feel ya. I wouldnt say its out of my budget but I really dont know if I could justify it at Ā£50k plus. Ive seen a lot of low mileage 2013 911 Carrera S for sale at 50k and for the money, I know what I would get.

Seeing as the z4 m40i is starting at 65k Iā€™m starting to worry about the pricing of the supra. I have a feeling they will be priced very similar :nono:

I mean that car does appear to be fully loaded, 65K isn't too far off what most expected.

If the Supra does indeed come with "340HP" instead of the 382 then that is an excuse to lower the price.

One thing that lets the Z4 pricing be that high is the included BMW Live Cockpit featuring professional Navigation and other stuff. It would be about 2,5k less without that. The Supra has no BMW live cockpit as far es we now. And itā€™s no convertible. Iā€™m still guessing a price lower than 60 k.

well this doesn't bode well for the supra pricing, keep in mind the M2 DCT starts at 56K.

This will be over $75k in Canada. I'd take the M2 Competition any day of the week, it's several thousand cheaper.

This price has nasty implications for the Supra's Canadian MSRP. If the Supra i6 comes in at $65k here the Canadian market share for it will be minuscule; those who prioritize handling in their sports cars will go for an equivalently priced Boxster, those who want power will go Corvette for the same cost. Seems like the dream of a 370Z Nismo-level price here has gone with the wind.

Price is as expected and the Supra will be a little higher around 68K (my guess). I think the bigger issue will be the ADM that dealers will tack on.
