Can anyone explain why being in Sport mode only and pushing full throttle makes it not shift / put down the power compared to Sport + Traction.
Only mods are CAI, downpipe, & JB4 Tune

Judging from both videos, it appears it has more to do with what rev range you were in when you went WOT. In the second video, you were just under 3k rpm vs the first video where you were at 2500rpm. Perhaps in the second video, the car didn’t want to downshift to avoid bouncing off of the rev limiter as you were already in a low gear at a higher rev range.

Not sure what you're talking about. First video it starts in 3rd and downshifts to 2nd on kick down and upshifts from there once it hits higher RPMs.

Second video you're going too easy on the throttle for it to downshift and you're not accelerating enough for it to upshift to the next gear unless there's something else you're trying to say that I'm missing.

Heres another video I just did. Keep in mind all times I am foot on the pedal mashed down.

I’m talking about where his revs were at prior to hitting throttle, not what gear he was in.

There’s a failsafe (for lack of a better term) that’ll keep the car from downshifting if it’s in a low gear and at a certain rpm to keep the car from hitting redline.

For example, if the car is in 3rd gear and I’m driving at 3k rpm and I mash the pedal, the car may consider the current gear the lowest gear that the car can safely be in and remain in that gear.

It’s the equivalent of being in manual mode and holding the left paddle down to have the car downshift to the lowest gear that the car can safely be in without going into redline.

I think that’s what’s happening in the videos OP is showing.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the feedback :)

Sorry I meant I wasn't sure what Kehvin was talking about, not you Ayebird. I do find it odd that it won't downshift at 3k RPM even at WOT. The new video he posted shows starting at 2.5k rpms this time and still doesn't downshift. I probably agree that it's a failsafe paired with traction control that's keeping it from the chance of spinning the tires since the car should have plenty of room to downshift at 2.5-3k RPMs in 3rd. I don't have time to go out for a drive but I'm almost certain that I get kickdown to 2nd at that range with completely stock performance.

Set your JB4 to no additional map and see if it's possibly the JB4 causing it.

Nothing about this feels wrong (videos seem normalish, are you hitting kickdown?), but I’d highly recommend not using sport plus. Especially with a piggy back or a tune
Im not using Sport+ (the one youre thinking of) I meant it as Sport&Traction. I tried testing it out more tonight and it happens still with Sport&Traction on. While trying to roll 30, it doesn’t kickdown to 2nd as it should right? Instead it stays at 3rd gear and just revs and never shifts unless I manually do it. Basically what the latest video shows. Pedal could be semi slow to full floor / full floor instantly and still does it. It happens so random though because sometimes it lets me full pedal.

Edit: Revs to 5-6k then never shifts to 4,5,etc unless I manually do it.

The 3rd video cuts off before you hit redline, it doesn’t really show anything.

I think I cut the video because thats when I was able to feel the floor with my pedal.

Did not realize I put 6-7k instead of 5-6k. Sorry for the confusion! I’m just trying to see if anyone else has this problem/if there is a fix. I will try and do some more runs & testing when I wake up and see if I can provide better videos.
