Car won't start..(battery related possibly)

Does that seem like the likely cause? My old Japanese mechanic is at a loss. Even swapping a genuine battery, it needs to be coded or it’s just like a dead battery?

Dude, in with the new. Old Japanese mechanic is old, this car is modern BMW with electric gizmo.

You need to register new battery. Period...

for the last week the car is stuck. It’s in Park and too low to tow with the rear skirts. They haven’t been able to raise the car as they’ve been busy to manually put in neutral. If they do that, then we can push it to the lift and swap the exhaust. After that Toyota will look at it. A GR garage I don’t think so. Thanks for everyone’s insight.

Off topic. How low is your car that is can't get towed? When I lived there I saw those flat beds that lat flat to the ground.

I’m with JAF now. They have two trucks to try to move it. It’s stuck in park so they can’t get it on a low truck. They are afraid of it hitting the back while getting out of parking lot.
