My last car had full front Suntek PPF that came with a coating on the film. I applied two coats of Gyeon Mohs ceramic coating on top of it and only thoroughly washed and then prepped with isopropyl alcohol before starting the process.

The reality is that no ceramic coating is going to last as long on PPF as it will on paint. The film isn't as smooth as paint, and is also comparably soft. With that in mind I didn't overly stress about prepping it before coating it.

I have no swirls on it or microscratches that I can tell so I assume it's working or is resilient enough that it didn't need to self-heal. It's always been immaculate besides chips and chunks that have happened due to rocks on the highway, debris on the track, other idiots scraping the ppf deep with their doors beyond what could reasonably self-heal. It's been installed since Oct 2021 and 20k+ miles.
