Check to see if your windshield wiper is making that noise when you here the clunk. Passenger wiper blade hitting the windshield.Okay some more into. The clunk us happening at the same time the start button lights up. It lights up and turns off over and over. I've even locked the car and placed the key away from the car and watched the start button light up and then go dim over and over .
This is exactly what mine does. What exactly was the issue ? I'm tuned now so I want to make sure they don't have to touch the ECU .
This is what my car was doing back in sep 10th 2020. Got that problem fixed but the car had other problems and unfortunately i had toyota buy the car back. Is this what your car is doing?
From your repair order they updated all control units in the car to 7/20 which would wipe my tune and I would have to unlock the ecu again and get it tuned. The first dealer I took it to they charged the battery and sent me home. The second dealer is now asking if I spilled water on the console and yeah so you could say its going well. I just let the current dealer know what was done, hopefully they can update the car without updating the ecu.As for it being tuned just be honest with the service and tell them you tuned the car and to not update your ecu. My car was not tuned so obviously thats not was caused the issue.
Mine's been doing this from day one. It seems to happen more frequently now...I can repeat it regularly. I'm on the fence about having the dealer chase it down. It's annoying as hell, but I worry that their "fix" may actually cause more problems. Seeing more and more cars with the revving issue. May just have to live with it.From your repair order they updated all control units in the car to 7/20 which would wipe my tune and I would have to unlock the ecu again and get it tuned. It seems it's a simple software update that fixes it. I wouldn't worry too much about that.Mine's been doing this from day one. It seems to happen more frequently now...I can repeat it regularly. I hope so. Going in for my yearly next week and Iām going to have them chase it down. Hopefully upgrading to the latest release will do it and not cause any new issues. It seems it's a simple software update that fixes it. I wouldn't worry too much about that.
I ended up deciding not to fix the issue, I will be installing a battery cut off. For them to fix the issue would cause me to be without a car for 2 weeks while I wait on the ecu to be unlocked and re-flashed.I hope so.
