My diff felt like it was having some issues when I had some steering input at low speeds before, making a little bit of noise for an instant. So I ended up having the oil changed to Motul Gear300 75W-90. Now it makes way more noise and it feels like it’s really slipping a lot, especially when cold. Anyone had this issue before? What do I do?

Does it feel like a clunk or a heavy slip? Like something getting unstuck

I'm on Motul Gear Competition 75W140 and get that feeling. Others in the track group have verified it's just the fluid.

It makes noise and feels like it’s catching and releasing a few times.

I happen to have the same issue atm. The diff shouldn’t be engaging at low speeds should it?!? Regardless, I didn’t realize the fluid could make that kind of sound/difference. That’s good to know, since Chuck (Rensuhlo) confirmed it can ?? I change all my fluids anyway starting a new track season (Oct - March down here for me). Was hoping (long shot) that would have made a difference. Sadly it didn’t… but I needed/ wanted it done anyway.

I did find my SPL rear toe links were slipping. So I bought the Verkline version and hoping that’ll make a difference. Will let you know. She’s in the shop as we speak. Also having my aftermarket exhaust welded at a spot that’s cracked. All bolts being checked (they’re marked & torqued to spec) and replaced where needed.

What have you done to the car so far and what have you physically inspected so far?

You'd feel it and hear it, as seen in this timestamp of mine.

Wow! Definitely nothing like that. Mine is more of a feel (like it’s gear slipping) than a sound. And only happens after completely stopped and start moving again. Glad you confirmed it’s just the fluid on yours.

My car is completely stock 2021 with 20k miles.
I was just suggesting to check & inspect the car. That lower viscosity Motul 75W-90 shouldn’t cause an audible change. But after hearing Chuck’s, I’m beginning to wonder….

OEM parts however can get loose and fail as well. Especially if someone has touched the car recently, you hit anything, including a big pot holes, etc. Hope you see something obvious after jacking her up, check the bolts & inspect prone suspension areas.
