Hi everyone
I've recently installed the DINAN exhaust and thought it'd be great to share my opinions on it.
I installed this exhaust at the shop with a couple of friends. Installation took about two hours, but the bulk of this time was removing the factory exhaust and adjusting the final fit. The factory exhaust was quite heavy, weighing approximately ~65lbs, and seemed to be stuck on the downpipe. After that was removed, the hangers with the bushings and the valve actuator was transferred onto the DINAN piece.
Installing the DINAN exhaust was quick, as it seemed to weigh 10-15lbs less than the factory one. After maneuvering the different pipes, I could only resolve the misalignment of the tips by adding some washers underneath the exhaust hanger brackets. Otherwise, the driver's side tip would've burned my diffuser from contact. I may bring this back into the shop for another adjustment since there is minor contact between the center chassis brace.
Overall build quality is great and the welds are fantastic. My favorite part about this exhaust is how it somewhat replicates a straight-pipe system once the valve is opened. You're able to adjust the exhaust tips to your liking and you can choose between polished or the black ceramic finish. I went with the black finish since it blends in the rest of the diffuser.
I was pleased with the sound quality in normal and sport modes. There is a noticeable deeper tone in the overall sound and the sport mode is quite aggressive and much louder than any of us expected. This is definitely not a quiet system, especially during cold starts. However, normal mode volume is comparable to the factory sound when the Supra is in sport mode.
If anyone is interested in getting one of these for themselves and you have any questions about it, feel free to ask away.
I've made a video comparing the DINAN sound and the stock exhaust. Give it a watch and let me know what you guys think!
