I'm picking up a stock 2023 car next week and will send my ECU off for unlock and then get it tuned.
Is there anything I NEED to do beforehand? i.e. makes sense financially and will make more than just a couple of bhp difference.
Or will the standard Supra kit be fine for first tune if I'm not upgrading the turbo?

Not a Corvette.
DP will allow you to run stage 2 but not a HUGE difference.

EDIT: Are you in the EU and have OPF?

I was told it was good practice to replace my spark plugs when applying a tune.. but I didn't bother. šŸ’ā€ā™‚ļø

Because the default oil is the wrong consistency for higher power? Or?
Because we still don't know what the best oil to use is, we're constantly testing out new weights and brands. Give us your thoughts, what is the best oil to run?

Yes, you will have an OPF. My car is totally stock with a stage 1 MHD+ tune which is plenty of extra power for me so far. (430hp ish..) There are a few of us around your area (I am near Woking) and a couple good UK Facebook groups that are worth joining.

What exactly do you mean by ā€œtesting it outā€? If just trying things and reporting subjective results, that’s not testing that is opinion.

If you actually wanna know if the stock oil or some other option is working for you, send the sample to a lab….

Edit: unless this is sarcasm and I just got baited into another oil discussion, in which case I say well played siršŸ˜†

Ok, perfect info. 430 seems plenty for me. My 4x4 Forester STi has 330 and that's a lot of fun - same weight.
Where / who did you get your tune done?

Ah, bum. Noob falls for the bait. My Forester consumes oil like petrol. It thinks it's a 2 stroke. Has done for 9 years lol - was looking forward to not having to think about oil so much.

I did mine myself as I have one of the early ECU’s that doesn't need to be sent off to Femto. When you get Femto to unlock I believe they will also put MHD on for you, but I think you (or someone else) will need to load the off the shelf map(s) for your setup (e.g. stage + octanes etc..) you can switch between maps on the fly so I basically I have a normal and premium petrol map. You can also go with a tuner who will take care of the entire process if you prefer. (i.e. remove ECU, send it to Femto etc.. etc..) WifBitz in one tuner, but there are quite a few out there. I would get onto a couple of the UK groups and ask on tuners:
