So. I'm not really sure where to turn with this. I've owned my car for about a year and a half. I've looked into this a few times but always seem to hit a dead end and forget about it. Figured it's worth a shot posting about it here.

The person who owned the car before me seems to have removed the plaque displaying my launch edition production number. I've run the Vin on Toyota's Vin checker and verified it as a real launch edition.

I'm just not sure how to go about finding my plaque. I'd be willing to pay a hefty price for the return of it. Any recommendations? Bought it from a dealer so I'm not sure of an appropriate way to go about finding the original owner or reaching out that doesn't invade privacy.

Vin ends in 020329

Oh they updated it. The VIN was never tied to the specific number in the car. Some had them stuck on at port. Some arrived late and stuck them on at the dealer. Going to be hard to get the number that the previous owner had.

Currently following this if you ever found out how to get your badge or got toyota to give you an OEM one with your personalized number. A supra I’m looking at has a vin that shows a LE carfax but the passenger side does not show the /1500 badge that is a sole proven point to be a Limited edition.

Had red seats, but black mirror caps (could be wrapped over), and no LE badge.

It even has different rims on it…. IDK what to do

I gave up on trying to get another, unless I can get in contact with a higher up at Toyota, idk where to turn. But I do know how to confirm your car is a LE if you're concerned like I was.

https://www.toyota.com/owners/vehicle-specification/

Plug you Vin in at this page on Toyotas website (you'll need an account) and it will tell you under "additional vehicle information" then under "body style"

I do, forget it. Obtaining a new badge through Toyota ain going to happen because Toyota dont give a shite about stuff like this same as other manufacturers both car and motorcycle. Stuff like this is brought to you by the “marketing” people not the design and engineering people.
