Where do you guys think Carlos and Ocon will land? Now that Esteban has been cut as well. Gives Carlos more options I suppose.
my personal opinion is that Carlos goes to Audi but maybe Williams if Kimi ends up in the Mercedes seat and Ocon isn’t going to be in F1 next year. There’s a ton of young talent ready for a seat and I don’t believe that a team will want Ocon over one of the many young drivers.

On another note, it was pretty cool seeing a little history in Q3 with Max and George getting the same time. I remember when HHF, JV and The Michael did the same thing and it hasn’t happened since.

Yet the announcers seem to think Carlos going to Williams is a dun deal. I just wish Checo could get a few points for the constructors and finish a race ?

Amazing race. Canada never disappoints
Now my wife is on the edge of her seat worried Max won’t win ?. I explained this is how racing seasons usually go, it’s more fun, nice to see George, Lando, Oscar, someone else win it at times… Nope, nada, she ain’t having it! If Max isn’t miles ahead, she can barely watch now. Ugggggggghhhhhhh……

I love these kind of races. Max showed again why he's the best. Other than a small off at turn 1, no mistakes. Perfect driving, perfect strategy. The McLaren was faster, and the Mercedes was as fast, if not faster too. But Max just gets it done. A bit of luck with the first safety car, because Lando was gone lol. He was super fast on that first set of inters. But it's part of the sport. Happened in Miami for Lando, here for Max.

Well said and I hear ya! I‘d rather watch it with you ?. Unfortunately, she’s an all or nothing RB (and especially Max) fan. He set the bar too high last season imo. I loved it! But me having a great weekend (from her point of view) now henges on Max finishing 1st ? ?

And what’s up with Max being sooooooooo far ahead of Checo? Makes me wonder if the RB sauce is drying up and it’s all Max. Not saying the RB car is not fast. But damn Max seems to have every skill honed in his arsenal.

Question for ya. Did Toto really want Max that bad or did he partly throw his name in there to give Max all the power at Red Bull. That put Christian in an awkward position. It was a win win for Toto. If Max left, he’d have taken him. If not, Christian had to keep Max happy. Did that mean resign Checo? Because I couldn’t imagine that was a smart move on Red Bull’s part any other way.

It's always been Max. Yeah they had an amazing car last year, but you needed a driver of Max's skill to get that unreal performance out of it. Perez showed where the car would be with an average driver. Missing Q3's, crashes, etc. This year the field has tightened up. Ferrari has won, McLaren has won, Mercedes could have won this weekend, but in conditions like these, you find out why Max is one of the greats. I don't know if you've seen his older races, but watch Brazil 2016. Absolutely insane what he can do with a car. Mercedes' car was waaaaaay too strong that year, but that was an amazing drive.

I think at this point Perez is effectively a pay driver with all his outside sponsorships. Max costs a lot of money and someone has to backfill the bank account. This is probably why Daniel R isn’t going to Red Bull, he brings in some sponsorship but not as much as Perez.

Fully agree. I’ll have to watch it! I’ve seen him drive Sebring and was in awe ?

I wish he could help throw up some more points for the constructors. I will say he is able to control the red mist better than Ocon (or even Yuki at times). Hopefully he can start working his way back to the middle of the pack.

Any ideas where Liam Lawson will land? Remain a reserve driver? I think he’d fit in nicely in one of the many empty spots available for 2025.

As someone that has been going to the Montreal race for years, the forecast was the real MVP. This was by far the most exciting race weekend I can remember up here in years. Sitting in the lousy weather is not ideal, but does it ever make a difference with strategies and on track performance.

Its time for Ric to go unfortunately. Cannot wait to see Liam in a seat (I am biased because he is one of us Supra dudes ? )
