I agree 100%.Anyone seen the new F1 homepage layout yet. I appreciate the dark theme, but the layout is ridiculous.
I have the book. Which hit hard because my Great Dane at the time was called Enzo. And I like Racing in the Rain (which I'd bet most of you haven't even seen)
road & track didn’t care for it too much either…So I got to see 3 F1 sessions today, the 2 practice sessions on TV and the F1 movie in a movie theater. If you are an F1 fan (and I am), it's not a bad movie. The story is improbable (but then so many movie plots are), and a few of the racing scenes hard to watch (too phony), but a lot of them were pretty good. I wouldn't say run right out and see it, but for an F1 fan, it worth seeing at some point. Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes well and I liked Kerry Condon as Kate, but than at 76 years old, I kind of like a slightly more mature woman of around 40.
I'd say the old movie Grand Prix is probably still the best racing movie, even if it is pretty old. And I liked Ford vs Ferrari because it was well done and based on real events. And I like Racing in the Rain (which I'd bet most of you haven't even seen) as it was fun and portrayed from a very unusual perspective.
Not much to say. Was a bit boring after the first stint. Was looking forward watching Max fight to the front, had a good start, Kimi had a rookie error, and other than Oscar pressuring Lando for a bit, that was really it.No conversations about the F1 race today? I'm a bit surprised. Here is my take:
You mean it was one of the best F1 races you’ve seen as well (as NASCAR)? I think that’s what you were saying. Or did you only watch NASCAR?No conversations about the F1 race today? I'm a bit surprised. Here is my take:
As a McLaren fan, I obviously enjoyed this morning’s F1 race. But after that I watched the NASCAR race I had on the DVR from Saturday night’s race from Atlanta. Now I’m not much of a NASCAR fan, and especially not races on an oval. When they race road courses, they can be more fun than even a F1 race. They do some pushing and shoving that most road racing series don’t allow. BTW, next week's NASCAR race is the city street race in Chicago and the week after they are in Sonoma. But I digress… back to Atlanta. This was FAR AND AWAY the best NASCAR race I have ever watched! And I’d even go so far as to say it’s in the top 10 of my all time favorite races.
There were more over under passes than I have seen in any other 10 races. One car would take the lead in turns 1 & 2 and the other car would pass back in 3 & 4. Then they would do it again the very next lap. Then the 3rd place car would get a run and pass both of them and the car that pushed him would slide up into 3rd. Then they would start passing each other all over again! It was crazy for most of the race. But the last 20 or 30 laps were absolutely insane! Officially 13 different drivers lead a lap and there were 46 lead changes. But if the leader got passed in turns 1 & 2 and then he passed back into the lead in turns 3 & 4, that doesn’t count as a lead change because they only count them at the start finish line! I’d guess there were more like 60+ lead changes. BTW, I had an inkling that this could be a good race because I watched the NASCAR Xfinity race late Saturday night on my DVR from Friday’s race and it was pretty good as well!
I remember going to watch Mike Tyson. There were other good cards and fighters at the time. But we all came to see what iron Mike could/would do. Similar to this race. It was fun watching the others, but not the same w/out Max in there pulling the impossible and making the other drivers change their tires early, look behind them (in this case), or whatever else he would have brought if he wasn’t so haphazardly knocked out of it so early ?Not much to say. It was a good F1 race to watch. It's too bad Max was knocked out early. But his car, even with him driving, wouldn't have even gotten close to the back end of Oscar's car, let alone Lando's... IMHO.You mean it was one of the best F1 races you’ve seen as well (as NASCAR)? I think that’s what you were saying. Or did you only watch NASCAR?
It was a lot of passing, which was cool. But I’m with Danny. Hate to see the world’s best driver knocked out of it so early by the rookie. Poor Kimi. I wish it woulda been George so we could have watched a hockey style fight in the gravel ?

It wouldn't have. Best he could've hoped for was P3. But it would've been fun watching him fight the Ferrari's. The McLaren is in another league. But his car, even with him driving, wouldn't have even gotten close to the back end of Oscar's car, let alone Lando's... IMHO.
Yeah felling kinda down on RB right now…. The fact no one can drive that 2nd car is discouraging. Some say Max might sit out a year and see who’s got the best new reg 2026 car. What a weird situation for George to be in. Guess he’d go to RB if Max made the switch to Merc.I really hope the rumors are true and Max goes to Mercedes. If anyone can nail new engine regs it's Mercedes. Their car design seems to be on an upward trend again, McLaren's "party piece" will be outlawed at the end of the season, and with Antonelli it'll make a great pairing.
I think there is very little chance that Max moves to Mercedes for next season. Maybe in 2027, but not 2026. And if he did, I think George would move to Aston Martin or Williams, both teams moving up in performance... especially Aston Martin.Yeah felling kinda down on RB right now…. Bottas and Perez are rumored to be their drivers.who is going to drive for Cadillac in 2026?
