I didn't think so to be fair. He gained no places, even after Max had his slide. Hulkenberg came from 19th to 3rd in a tractor and Hamilton was on him but couldn't get past in a far superior car. When they pitted the gap went from less than a second to 8 seconds plus.
Probably pitted a lap early on to the softs IMO.

For me, it was a fun race to watch. I love races when wet weather gets involved. Yes, Oscar did a stupid thing by slowing down so abruptly. And the 10 seconds was fair. But Max showed some Red Mist by spinning off right after he got pissed off at Oscar for the hard braking at the end of the pace car session. But Max got what he wanted from Red Bull, a pointy car with low downforce, and it cost him big time. Lando and Oscar are so close to equal (as drivers). And I agree with Danny, there may be another clash (like Canada) between them before the end of this season.

You didn't jinx Max. He did it all by himself. He wanted a car with low down force and that over steered (pointy) and that's what Red Bull gave him. He could have done very well in the dry while keeping a calm demeanor. But it got really wet and he had a bout with the Red Mist after getting pissed at Oscar. I'm beginning to think some drivers have figured out they can get Max pissed off and he ends up making mistakes. He actually is human after all!

I don't think it was red mist. Low downforce, cold tires from the safety car, just sent it a little too hard on the restart. He was certainly not the only one to have a moment.

About 1.5 years too late I feel. Had they sacked him could Newey have chosen to stay? Would other key members have stayed? Would the new principle actually developed the car with two drivers in mind?

Feels like a last ditch effort to retain Max as they are very much so in desperation mode right now. Without Max they are a back marker team fighting for P9/10.

Crazy! From on top of the world just a year and a half or so ago, to today. I get it, but wow, what a difference.

I personally think that with the new Ford engine, new car/regs, and most likely no Max, RB will be a rear of the field team at best. Wouldnt be surprised in 5-7 years tops we get a headline that RedBull is selling the team.

I don't think Newey left BECAUSE of Horner, I think he didn't care for the power struggles going on in the team. Most of the reasons speculated the power struggle more so than Horner as his reasoning. Horner was responsible for bringing Newey to RB. He was responsible for everything, 8 drivers championships and 6 team championships.

I may not care for the dude a ton, but if I owned a F1 team he would for sure be at the top of the list to run it. I think RB made a huge mistake. but they were dropping team personal like flies. I am not surprised if there is a mass exodus coming of great minds and engineers going to other teams.

Horner will be in red before Spa.
That was my first thought too, but for 2026. The Vasseur rumors are just as strong as the Horner ones are.
My guess is Horner accepted the position for 2026 and instead of waiting, RBR kicked him out early.

So can we say the Red Bull 'Multi-21-ed' Christian Horner?

I'm sorry I'll go ahead and show myself out.
