So the Supra was my first foot in the door into BMW, and like a lot of others I’ve been thinking of “upgrading” to a G8x M3/M4 comp. Most likely the M4 as I have no need for another 4 door car. This would be like the Supra, a toy to cruise and have fun, I work from home no need to commute so It’s just a weekend enjoyment.
Spec’ing out my ideal M4 runs close to 105k new. A friend said for that money I’d have a 911. I’ve always disposed Porsche. Not for the car itself but the owners. I’ve met just a handful of really cool decent Porsche owners, the rest a usually the biggest DB ever.
The only 911 really in my price range would be a 2020 992.1 911 Carrera S. Only options I want/have to have is auto lift and sportchrono package. Seems a decent mileage (20-30k) 911 is around $95-110k.
So anyone spent time in either? I’ve watched some comparisons and it seems like the 911, even a base non S, beats out the M3/M4. Im pretty sure no matter what I’m slapping and exhaust and tune on either, I know the M4 will have more room when it comes to straight line ability which is why I’d get the Xdrive, but a tuned 911 S isn’t exactly slow either. Both can easily run mid 10’s no problem, handle great and from what I can research make great comfortable daily cars if I wanted too.
So what say you, standing in front of both cars which one are you taking the keys too?
