If you must, use the tow hook adapter. You should be thankful some monkey didn't just screw it in to the bumper.

It’s illegal here too. Haven’t gotten pulled over for it in 3 years that I’ve had the car. I think the plate is under the passenger seat - perfect spot for it.

Unfortunately my OCD would require a new bumper, but what you’ve done looks about as good as you could ask for aside from a new front bumper. I’m surprised no one’s selling a front bracket replacement that’s shaped like the front end of the car to hide the holes for those picking up preowned cars now.

OP be very glad as others have mentioned that the dealership being unable to install the front bracket forced you to an alternative. A lot of dealerships won’t install the bracket until they have the money from the banks in case financing were to fall through. When I sold cars we wouldn’t mark up a bumper for this specifically on a sports car. This ensured it didn’t cause the next potential buyer to not want to buy our car, even though it was state law to have a front plate at that time.
