No license plate yet after 8 weeks.

Im in Texas also, i bought mine on 5/31 and received my plates in a week and a half. I was surprised because thats the quickest ive ever received plates. Most likely an issue with the dealer.

I just called the county again and they confirmed that they have no record of the vehicle. I am calling the dealer now.

Called the dealer and asked for a manager because the salesman is not following up.
No manager is available to answer the call...left a msg. and the salesman finally calls me back telling me the same thing.. It's backed up.
I told him about the county not having the record for the car, and the manager he's supposed to be talking to told him that I probably talked to the consumer side of the department not dealer's side.
I am very confused at this point.

I'd wager it's the dealer. Wondering whether they forgot to start the paperwork at all. I had a similar issue with my dealer. I went something like 6 weeks with no plates on account of "delays with the DMV" but when I called the manager, the plates magically showed up a few days later. I am pretty sure the salesman didn't do anything until I called. A lot of dealers are doltish and lazy unless there is a profit to be had.

Oh yeah, I am definitely thinking that the dealer didn't do its job. It's just frustrating that they don't want to acknowledge it. I wonder if they actually believe I would buy their lies..
