Gas smell

Has anyone else noticed a gas smell when cleaning their drivers side (LHD) front wheel?

I've noticed this a fair few times when cleaning my wheels but it's only ever the drivers side front and I really need to get up close to smell it.

I've never experienced this on anything else & am not looking forward to someone telling that I have a fuel leak

Sorry to hear but that doesn't sound normal.. I'd consult the dealer before it catches fire if it's really gas..

Drivers side (in North America) is where the fuel line comes up into the engine bay and also where the ventilation lines are. So you probably have a leak somewhere there. It comes up right next to the DME.
