Hey! I have experienced some weird problem with gear selector during track days. It happens due to the vibrations especially in left turns with significant roll of the car, when I hit curbs. I do prefer to drive in manual mode, but in those situations the selector gets back to the auto mode. The car is completely stock. I was wondering, if anyone has experienced such an issue and maybe there is a fix for that. Attaching the link to my onboard, where this has happened twice during one lap (the second time I did not even notice).

Solution: Don't take the corner as fast ?

Wedging something in there sounds straightforward, but how do you keep it from flying away..
May have to fashion something out of 3d printer for best solution.

Watching some Jackie Ding videos on YouTube he has/had the exact same issue. Drop him a message if anyone knows what his username is on here. I forget

Sounds like a rubber and tape can fix this issue

I think Jackie Ding (@JackieD86) made a latch or hook or something like that on the side tunnel and used an elastic band to hold it over in the manual setting IIRC. I remember one video where he was fighting with it the whole time and then another where he was trying different bands. He would probably know which video but I think it was at TA event at COTA maybe in summer 2020?

Guess I was wrong... found the video I was thinking of and he's got the problem in it... maybe fix is in next video (or later in this one since I didn't watch the whole thing again). He mentions it at 5:58 in that video, but I remember him showing the fix before a race so it was after COTA I think.

I'd think one of those adhesive rubber bumpers for pictures, components, etc. would work well. After a couple sessions of placing and removing it the adhesive would probably be gone but you can just switch to a new one if you got a whole pack of them.

Looking at it more I think you'd need a crowfoot wrench type design to wedge in between the trim and lever.

for sure add felt or rubber. you need some buffer/tolerance to be able to wedge it in and out.
Don't have cad software installed at the moment, but it'd take tops an hour to measure & design this and then 3d print, if I had one.

Did anyone figure out a way to properly keep it in manual mode? I am experiencing this quite a bit as well.
