Has anyone added CarPlay to a base model with this?

thank you buddy... but we actually couldn't even get as far as pairing the iphone to the car. it wouldn't even let us get that far because the [x] mark on the carplay cannot be launched/started. so whenever you click on it, it just gives off an error cannot connect warning. i do 110% recommend jacob and appreciate his time and efforts. but my car just won't do it no matter what we did.

If you're in the US and would like to add an alternative. I have one of the Road Top boxes a la BimmerTech that you can have for $20 (which is shipping). I've got no use for it. No sense in keeping it. It works fine, but I didn't like the Android Auto display. CarPlay looks as good as factory.

It's pretty simple to install if you have patience with removing interior trim pieces.

Yep, for an aftermarket solution the Roadtop Kit is really good. Recently installed one myself in the the daily (GLA45) and it wasn’t difficult at all.

Happy Aloha Friday guys... I now have CarPlay!! The BMW guru Jakob took another stab at my car and he got it to work! The answer to my issue/problem was actually well-covered in the 3-series/X1/Z4 forums where owners were either missing the WLAN antenna or did not have the native activation of the "0143_NB_Tevo/EntryEVO Carplay" module certificate on "aktiv". Once you have the antenna plugged in the burgundy plug outlet, and the 0143 code is aktiv, then it worked seamlessly on my base model Supra. That crazy bitch Siri is now alive! LOL. Thank you to everyone who posted or replied and DM'd me about this. I am super happy w/my Supra now and I give all the glory and credit to Jakob and Bimmer_Remote -- 110% recommend them for this mod if you have a base model like me.

Any SUPRA can add Carplay.

Anyone having issues with the Road MMI having to reconnect Bluetooth when starting the car? It seems to forget it 65% of the time and I have to reconnect Bluetooth and give permissions again.

I went with Bimmer Remote Coding for Apple Carplay on my Base Model audio system and it turned out great. The process was easy and their communication was excellent. I highly recommend them.
