Hi there, I just recently bought a 2022 Supra 3.0. The headlights are somewhat pitted from gravel on the highways up here. I’m wondering if anyone has attempted to sand and seal with clear coat? Any idea if these lenses are polycarbonate or acrylic?
Thanks

I’d probably replace the lens with the replacements ones linked above and than get them PPF’d to prevent the pitting from happening again.

I'd try the sand and seal first. What have you got to lose. In the aviation industry on commercial jets we used to sand and polish a lot of plastic components like the passenger cabin windows to remove crazing. We also did the wing tip navigation light fairings to remove erosion, crazing and hazing. We didn't however recoat them with anything. What we used was a "Micromesh" polishing kit which are commercially available. It had various grades of very fine cutting cloths and polishing compound. I have a car specific kit in the workshop but I've never opened it.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.
There are a lot of videos of this on the internet. Seems like the best success comes from thorough wet sanding up to 1200 grit and then sealing with a 2k clear coat to prevent yellowing from UV exposure.
I’ve got an old set of RAV4 lights that are in pretty rough shape, I’ll experiment on them first.

2 options:
1. sand from 600ish to 3000 and then polish, ceramic coat
2. sand from 600ish to 1500 and then spray 2K clear coat

Both options afterwards I suggest applying PPF after, since you do a lot of highway driving it seems, this headlight is actually pretty easy to PPF yourself.
